1. 4 times on seperate releases (twice in two years on two fanclub albums) and seven on seperate regional singles.

I'd say maybe let it rest. It's had enough mileage.

don't forget the UK album bonus track, nice song but hardly worth the milking it gets

  3. Surely there's a better song worth milking the life out of.
  4. Any news regarding the new album? Read reports about Danger Mouse, RedOne, Bono asking Guetta to produce..I'm confused. Still nothing official.

yeh im starting to think that the may release might not happen like Maccy G said it would, its nearly Feb and not even a hint of a single so far, but Guetta did make it sound like all the songs were finished
  6. U2′s 13th Album Sooner Than We Expected

One of the classic rock bands U2 is going to release its new, 13th album this spring.

The band usually spends four or five years between offering another masterpiece. However, fortunately their fans won’t have to wait for another five years to enjoy the best rock music.

It took them only two years to work on this album, in contrast to the last released album “No Line on the Horizon” that took four years to complete (released in 2009).

The name of the latest album will possibly be titled “Songs of Ascent.” New rock songs like “Mercy,” “Every Breaking Wave” and “Boys Fall from the Sky” will be included in this new album. This means that the comparatively quick release of this album doesn’t mean that the songs will lose their quality. Moreover I think that this is going to be another great album, which will reflect positive emotions that only U2 can create. As starting from their formation this great rock band has maintained a unique sound that is built on melodic instruments combined with Bono’s expressive vocals.

This album will be released before U2′s Live 360 tour, which is expected to be with modern and technically excellent claw setup.

Besides, U2 is said to be working with the best DJs like Guetta and Will.i.am, and will probably create fantastic club-sounding songs that are likely to be included in their new album.

To tell the truth, I don’t mind with whom U2 corporates or how long it works on its albums, as I am sure whatever they do, it will turn into the best rock music and will be included in top music charts.

Don't know how reliable this is, but lets hope so!
  7. uhm it's describe like a sort of mix of the 3-4 projects rumoured ...
  8. Thanks for posting that, Johny, although the poor gramar at times and the ocassional mistakes make me be a little cautious about this one.

U2 should definitely finish their Fez sessions for Songs of Ascent. They can go back to Rick Rubin some time in the future, some good songs might be there, too. But for now, I think they can make a killer album if there's stuff which sounds like Fez - Being Born and Kingdom on it.

I'm with you there, even if its just an EP
They ballsed up with overproduction and changing songs entirely towards the end.

    Soon, is quite perfect.

yeah, i think its just a summary of the rumours so far from someone whos clearly a big fan. "sooner than expected" could just mean less than the usual 5 year gap. I'm still pretty confident with spring as a likely release date.
  11. A spring (e.g. May, just before the start of the Mexico-North American leg) release means a February-at-maximum announcement, and an April-at-max single...
