1. Nice art there although it reminds me of the Early Demos cover from iTunes.
  2. I like it, but it looks more like a Snow Patrol cover to me
  3. I don't care what style the new music is in, as long as its good. They should get together and decide on what their best songs(that can be completed by the summer) are, if its 2 songs or 10 it doesn't matter to me. I really mean that i hope it doesn't matter to them either, I don't want to hear that they didn't have enough time to finish something so they did nothing. Unfortunately as info is trickling out it looks like there won't be a new album, before the tour, so when? I think new songs on this years tour would be fun to hear. But there could be a long term plan here. Since taking it much slower on the 360 tour than any previous, maybe they will only take 1 year off after the tour, instead of 3, and come back with new music and maybe an arena tour? I'm in.

man i dont really know what i want. I would die to hear a new U2 song but i would really hate to only have some 2 song EP. I mean it would be just so awesome to hear a couple of new songs on the tour but it would be really bad if they released a great album afterwards with 11 great songs and we got to hear only a few of them with no tour upcoming.
  5. this is a great little tune, I popped it on my pc now and and played it through the speakers and my mom turned to me and said "that´s u2 right?"... it is very u2ish... I like the voice melodies... I wish we could hear more of the unreleased and early verions stuff :/... I wish we could hear a salomé for each album lol... or it could be a bside

And u guys were talking bout how great lbums might have been... even ab had fantastic unreleased sogs such as Heaven and hell

What song are you talking about?

Also, this topic has been very quiet for a while, and there really isn't anything new to report. I wonder are they working away in the studio now? I really don't want to wait another four years for an album.

Me neither but what can you do?

  8. I don't think Edge said anything in that about when it would be released. They're not even sure if they're going to call it "Songs of Ascent" anymore, from what I've read, it's still a debate. It's anyone's guess, but I suppose we'll find out more in the coming months before the tour resumes.

Bono is saying the next U2 album will be called `Songs of Ascent’. He should know.

In an interview with Sean O’Hagan, Bono called ‘Songs of Ascent’ the sister album to ‘No Line Of The Horizon’, similar to how ‘Zooropa’ and ‘Achtung Baby’ were bookends.

Atu2.com says the album is expected to be produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois once again, with additional work by Steve Lillywhite.

Some of the songs are expected to be the leftover tracks from ‘No Line On The Horizon’, but some are older.

Songs expected to be used include ‘North Star’, an unused track from ‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’.

‘Winter’, the song that didn’t make ‘No Line On The Horizon’ but was used in the movie ‘Brothers’ is expected to make the new album and ‘Kingdom Of Your Love’, heard in part of the intro music of the U2 360 Tour is also expected on the album.

Other tracks we might find there are “Every Breaking Wave’, ‘If I Could Live My Life Again’, ‘Love Is All We Have Left’, ‘Mercy’, ‘Lead Me In The Way I Should Go’ and ‘You Can’t Give Away Your Heart’.

Bono told the Irish Independent that the album may be out in June.
