1. I know you're joking. But let's face it, 90% of the people here get every U2 release without listening to it first. Just because it's a new U2 album.
U2 have lost lots of money this way. they're just in the lucky position that they don't need it.
  2. But what would improve for the sector if piracy were impossible? Who would benefit? The artist on the street, God i hope no. U2 ? How much i like them, little they get is honest / fair / whatever. Some artist without a hit? Would he profit? And should he profit ? Will the record companies give out more contracts? Why would they?

Just to be clear. Piracy is not good. But the whole business is shady. Every artist worth playing according to the radio is loaded. Others who arent being played dont get much. Well go back to college and do something you are good at
  3. The record companies, the artists and the consumer.
  4. Consumers? I dont see that happening.

Why should U2 get more? Why should Muse get more? They all get more then they morally deserve. I dont mind it, but the whole balance is gone anyway. Same with football players.

And we're back at the same old story.
We can easily change that situation.
  6. Sure, stop buying. And prohibit piracy. That would be the only sane solution Who is gonna propose that to Paul

  8. U2 only makes more during the piracy years. Only recent tours on that one. I know that isnt the same as music sales. But its coming from the left or from the right

No need for Paul. People would just have to boycott it. No buying, no stealing. It's that simple. Problem is that people are too dumb/greedy/inconsequent...
  10. True. But that makes the problem hard. The whole business is not fair and you cant just straighten it out on one end.

    Apples and Oranges.

    Besides: this isn't about U2.

Why not? We have the power...
