A man should live by his pricipals, no matter what they may be.

  2. You should see me in real life. I'm 80% more profane.

  3. Then run for President, seriously. It's the only way for you to ever get even close to the utopia that you so strive to live in.

Former EU leaders call to sanction and boycott Israel

Twenty-six former European Union leaders, including the EU’s former top diplomat, Javier Solana, issued a letter last week calling for boycotts and sanctions targeting Israel due to settlement construction.

According to the letter, which was reported on the euobserver.com website and addressed to EU leaders, the Jewish state, “like any other state,” ought to be slapped with “the consequences” and “a price tag” for its construction of housing in the West Bank.

    -----

In an interview with the BBC, Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said the former EU leaders’ fixation on the settlements is “strange and harmful.”

“It is difficult to see how the call for sanctions and Israel’s isolation will promote peace, but clearly this will diminish the EU’s capability to play a constructive role in promoting peace in the region,” Palmor said.

Finally someone raises their voice, and Israel just continues to act like nothing is happening.

  5. America aint smart enough to vote for a Libertarian.
  6. Maybe i'm disrupting you with my first post in this forum,
maybe you don't give a damn about what i wanted to let you know.
    In both cases i apologize.

    Anyway, here i go :
Belgium has recently broken the European 'record' for most days to form a government.
It has been 213 days since the elections and we're still without a government.
Last record was Holland in 1977 with 208 days, the world record is for Iraq (248) days and i bet we'll even 'break' that one too...

That are just some figures of course. Fact is that i live in a very small country, where Flemings (Dutch speaking) and Walloons (French speaking) can't agree on ridiculous things, politicians slowly lead their county into a downward spiral and more and more people would like to split up the country (the party that won the elections, N-VA, is favor of an independent Flanders).

Imo, this situation, which has actually begun years ago, is ridiculous and embarassing.

Because it seems like many other countries are worried about the situation here, i was wondering if that's true : is this in the media where you live and if so, what do they actually say and/or what do you think about it (compared to your own situation) ?
Because i heard some countries already reported we were preparing for a civil war, but that is still exagerated.
  7. Yes I'm aware of the Belguim situation and I have to admit: it's embarrasing. They should have set up new elections when negotiations started to go downlhill and no agreement was on sight... It would have been better. Because there's no way out, Flemings' and Walloons' leaders are too hot-headed to agree on anything, much less on a government agreement. No way...

Welcome to the politics discussion, Glenn

  8. America must have a lot of dumb people then as the Libertarians have only ever had one electoral vote (Roger MacBride).

It was in 1972. He was a former Republican

Jes, few days ago I was listening to radio news and heard about that infamous record breaking, that situation is complicated, but nobody was mentioning civil war and things like that.

Bad things are happening in Hungary too, conservative government there wants to take control over media, like in totalitarist systems.
