  2. Just saying, I'd rather have the odds increase with factor 100 (still being neglectable) of being murdered and leave my door open at night, than being victim of all the petty crimes here.

    I am not denying that there underdevelopped countries with high crime rates, but so are there weldevelopped countries.

    Nice way of putting it.. But my point is that these numbers are not sacred, because there's a lot of crime which goes on 'behind the system' and is therefore unnocticed....
    Some depeveloped countries do have high crime rates, but not for the bigger crimes (generally speaking). Although if the smaller crimes do happen to you, it's still bad

    I'd rather have some little material thing stolen... than a life lost.
  6. Well stabbings, not fatal are not on your list as well. Happened twice this month in a 2 km radius. Not kidding. Trainmanager, kicked into the hospital, list goes on.

    And still I could name 30 undevelopped countries with low murder rate as well, if you want .

  7. Just had to debunk this. Did some quick math. What you wish for would mean that 1 in 23 persons would be killed every fifty year. That means some pretty close relative would probably get murdered during your life.

    I don't think you'd want the odds of you getting murdered increased by 100.
  8. That is assuming that everyone has an equal chance to be murdered That is easily debunked as well.
  9. With low other crime rates, as armed robberies, one could hypothesise that the chances are all but uniformely distributed in those countries.
  10. Anyway, I am playing a bit with you all. But I doubt it is that straight forward as you claim it is. Have visited some poor countries and don't think you can just state it like that.
