1. My advice would have been to at least not play it in any of the northeastern States - especially in NY and DC.

Anyway, I'll let it go. They obviously learned from their mistake.
  2. How would you rate the Nassau gig Matt ?...IMO,prior to the Bush tune mistake..I felt the show was amazing..a classic even..

If they didnt play Bu$hleaguer, and played Smile,Soldier of Love and Indifference (as they were slated to)....a top 10 gig for 2003..no question....IMO of course...
  3. I think it's fantastic - right up their with St. Louis, Champaign, Pitt, and Philly. I'm listening through it again (just finished "Down') - I've been hanging out around my house with one earbud in pretty much all day - I look like an idiot (wannabe CIA agent or something) but at least I'm listening to great tunes.

Tomorrow , or even later tonight (depending if I watch TV): BUFFALO - a show that happened not much more than a half-hour away from where I lived at the time.

    Big F-bomb.
  4. Just started Buffalo...like how EV came out early and played "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away." I know that this is not the only time he's done this (2006) but I always wondered if he went on before the opening act had performed?
  5. Well, I've finished Buffalo and am well into Penn State now. Both are excellent shows although I don't know if I'd rate either one the best of the Spring 2003 tour. You do get quite a bit of everything between the two concerts, but I still think they should have played more of Riot Act (at least 8 of the 15 songs per show?) back then. It's interesting how they'll play a lot of Ten and Vs each night but aside from Better Man and Corduroy, the rest of Vitalogy seems somewhat of a rare occasion. This still seems to be the case with their performances. Anyway, as I said, both are great shows and I plan to listen to them again before "moving on."

A couple negative notes just to create conversation/debate:
I can't say that I'm much of a Sting fan and I don't think that "Driven to Tears" is right for PJ.
I realize that it wasn't rehearsed so I should be too hard on them, but the impromptu performance of Satan's Bed was pretty rough.

  7. DTT was played alot in '03 for its political message,I do agree seems weird for PJ to play a tune by the Police...
  8. Ed, Matt thought I should ask you... care to recommend the best live version ever of Go? Or some of them.
  9. I love the version from Ireland,06.01.00..great funny story before..and the version of Go is a killer...long fade - out..try that version..its great....
  10. Oh, Ireland... might get the entire gig. You reckon PJ are good in Ireland?
  11. Sure...they love Europe...Go from East Troy 10.08.00 and also from Boise 11.03.00 are great as well....
  12. The story was indeed funny. Listening to Go now. Gotta love pearljambootlegs.com.

2000 must've been a great year for Go then Hope they play it in Stockholm. Damn, if I listen to all their albums ahead of Stockholm my wishlist will have a hundred songs...
