I'd like to add that unlike others, Nuno and Kaycee share some/many of their recordings with us instead of keeping them to themselves and only trade in those close circles (haha, I remember when Nuno got started, we also traded some stuff, but nothing in the league he is in now. The least you can do is say thank you and respect simple wishes. If you don't want to follow the wishes, at least keep the result to yourself.
In this case you certainly missed the point that the reason that caused all the bad reactions was that the "alternate source" taper obviously lied purposely so that people download his version (thatz my guess). This is what upsets me as well. If he had at least written that it's an "upgraded" version, I would have been "ok" with it, tho I would have felt a bit disappointed that he didn't show "respect" to the taper and at least asked him about it. It's kind of a netiquette you should show, even if the taper doesnt own the rights.
