1. that's how a real boss speaks
  2. What about cover albums? The Spaghetti Incident?, anyone?

(Even as a GNR fan, I believe that album should be disallowed simply out of principle.)

  3. So no Singles, Ron?

Maybe you really aren't as big of fan of the Seattle scene as I thought!
  4. To be honest, I plan to keep it simple. No compilations; no cover albums; no live albums; no EP's; no DVD's. Just studio recordings that contain (mostly) original material from the artist in question.

Does Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II count as a single album or two separate ones? They were SOLD separately so I presume two separate ones.
  5. (My fourth consecutive post in this topic!)

I think I'll have to stick with just a top 50. Not that I can't think of 100 that I "like" but some/many of them I really haven't listened to in over a decade (e.g., Nine Inch Nails' The Downward Spiral) and I'm not sure if I want to include these kind of albums in my list.
  6. I will probably also do a top 50, a top 100 is too much for me.
  7. (Raises hand) I've got a question.

Do our submissions need to be in numerical order or can alphabetical lists be accepted towards the final toplist?

If I understand your question correctly, you should read through this topic: http://www.u2start.com/topic/9056/0/25/

We (Me and Fabian) would like the users here to make a list of their favorite albums (For example 1. Ten, 2. Joshua Tree, 3. The Wall) and then after 18th of december we will count all the lists together and create the U2starts toplist. So what the community here thinks are the best albums of all time.

I hope I answered your question

I think numerical order counts, it did for the last toplist since each nomination is awarded a point based on it standing. This then went towards it's overall standing in the combined list. If each nomination just counted as one towards the overall standing, then alphabetical would be ok.

Bart/Fabian will have to confirm how they calculate the final list.
  10. Their point system for the Top 100 Songs list was outstanding and I believe they will be using the same strategy again:

    Submit 10 Albums:
    1. 100 points
    2. 90 points
    3. 80 points
    ...
    8. 30 points
    9. 20 points
    10. 10 points

    Submit 20 Albums:
    1. 100 points
    2. 95 points
    3. 90 points
    ...
    18 15 points
    19.10 points
    20. 5 points

    Submit 25 Albums
    1. 100 points
    2. 96 points
    3. 92 points
    ...
    23. 12 points
    24. 8 points
    25. 4 points

    Submit 50 Albums:
    1. 100 points
    2. 98 points
    3. 96 points
    ...
    48. 6 points
    49. 4 points
    50. 2 points

    Submit 100 Albums
    1. 100 points
    2. 99 points
    3. 98 points
    ...
    98. 3 points
    99. 2 points
    100. 1 point

  11. hehehe .. mine was just a consideration on the "no compilations/greatest hits" statement hehe

i plan same as you in which kind of album to consider
  12. Love the ways we keep stuff going here when there's no tour. Hats off
