1. I hate to say it, but I doubt there will be too much variety in my list.

    I like what/who I like and that's about it.

Long live U2, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Oasis, GNR, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Nirvana, The Beatles, Led Zep, and The Stones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Why don't we have a "jury" forum (or just use this one) where, while we're making the lists in real time, we can come and ask the general consensus whether or not to include it? Instead of trying to make a hardcore set of rules now that might be hard to compile.

  3. Indeed. This forum might have to shut down if we only "conversed" during a tour.

    When are they touring again?

  4. Let me clarify, although iTim already kind of did.

Can I submit a list like this towards the final list (using the albums you listed):

    Pearl Jam - Ten
    Pink Floyd - The Wall
    U2 - The Joshua Tree

or does it need to be like this:

    1. Pearl Jam - Ten
    2. U2 - The Joshua Tree
    3. Pink Floyd - The Wall
  5. I think their list is numeric and position-comprehensive. If you do list them in alfabetical order, the album starting with A will get 100 points and the album starting with U or Z will get 1 point (assuming you do a 100 albums list).
  6. Sorry Fabian I edited your post instead of posting mine WTF has gone wrong with my phone?
  7. No point.

To make a long story short:
    Just rank your albums.
  8. To make it even shorter:

    Rank, not list.

I like this idea. I'll start with three albums I am considering but am not too sure if they can be included:
    1. The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour - made up of songs from the TV movie of the same name and a bunch of (classic) singles not in the movie.
    2. Oasis' The Masterplan - a collection of the band's b-sides.
    3. Nirvana's MTV Unplugged - has been mentioned earlier in the thread that it is "okay" but it is a live album made up of previously released songs.

    Thoughts?

    1. Yes - We've touched upon soundtracks, I think original music made specifically for the film should be allowed. I'm no Beatles aficionado though, so take this with a pinch of salt.
    2. No - A collection of B-Sides, technically similar to disc two of U2's Best of 1980-1990/1990-2000 releases.
    3. Yes - It was an officially released live album, I don't think the fact that the songs were previously released should make a difference.

My thoughts. A shame, I love The Masterplan.
  11. If you ask me The Masterplan should count, same goes for the B-sides of U2.
