1. Also, NLOTH semi-acoustic. It worked so well, but it was a shame they only did it once...
  2. Hopes: Hoping for some songs they don't play often or have never played (So Cruel, Drowning Man etc.)
    ZOOTV style songs (Numb)
Return of alter egos? Maybe a new one!
    Very cool stage (360, ZOOTV)
Pull a Springsteen/PJ and play tons of songs over the tour and change the set every show
Edge Solo Set (Numb and one or two more songs)
Return of the "Falling Buffalo" (If i'm correct thats what its called) picture at the end of One
Your Blue Room w/ Sinead O' Connor
    One w/ Unchained Melody

Songs I want: God Part II, Anything Zooropa or Achtung, Heartland, Drowning Man, LNOE, Gone, Discotheque, Sweet Fire Of Love (I know this will never happen, but i'm still hoping it might someday...), UV, BTBS Return (Maybe new format or the JT version), Wire, Mysterious Ways ZOOTV Version, All I Want Is You/ Sexual Healing...

    Things I don't want:
Less post-2000 stuff! I don't need to have half the set filled with NLOTH and HTDAAB... Not that there bad albums but there are so many better songs you could play... Only songs i'd want at all would be Walk On (Maybe), Beautiful Day, Crazy (360 tour version),Elevation, Vertigo (Maybe), Kite and Boots (Maybe).

Less Pride! I love the song but c'mon it doesn't need to be at every show.. I think this next tour they should give it a rest like Bullet (They never will)
  3. Here's the deal with setlist rotation...we talk about this all the time. A realistic want would be to hope that U2 would have two or three slots in the setlist that they would rotate. You're simply never going to see U2 put on the type of show they've been putting on for the last 20 years now with a rotating setlist. There are too many things that need coordinated.

Can you imagine if they started pulling audibles on the 360 crew? It would be like if you went to see Hamlet and made the actors start performing Romeo and Juliet halfway through. The set would be wrong, the lighting cues would be completely off, and the characters would more than likely be forgetting parts.

U2 shows are great because they're productions. It's more than just a setlist. Frankly- and I love Pearl Jam, seen them live and they are one of my favorites- but there is absolutely nothing to that show but music. And that's fine, nobody wants anything more than that from them. But U2 has a reputation as the greatest live band in the world, and that's not something they're going to let go of.

That's fair... I really don't think they would ever do a PJ setlist, but it would be awesome if they did... Probably impossible for them though (360 Crew example)
  5. I forgot to add that yes, the songs can be rehearsed with the crew and they can be forced to know what's going to happen, but more often than not at a Pearl Jam show (for example), the setlist is written minutes before taking the stage. I swear I've read a quote by Stone Gossard before where he said he doesn't necessarily know what he's playing until he hits the stage. You can't do that when you employ such a population to run your show for you - its too much to coordinate.

Agreed, but you gotta admit, if they could pull it off it would be really cool to have different songs each night.
  7. Oh absolutely, I don't mean to say that it wouldn't be. What I would enjoy even just as much is the same 24 songs in completely different orders each night. Experiment more, take longer to find a "theme" for the show, and don't settle for one good flow that you get out of a show and repeat it 50 times. Shake it up, Totally throw us off!

Thats actually a really good idea! The same exact set order does get way too predictable after a while...

Exactly Matt , that s why U2 can t have a rotative setlist

Anyway i think they can do some more ....even rotate the order woulde be great and the opening song ( having 3 or 4 dif openonig songs)
  10. Looking forward to hearing Womanfish. That's the only hope I have.
  11. Totally agree with you Matt, couldn't have said it any better myself. My favourite live bands are the ones who strive to have the perfect "show", the perfect "set". While it's awesome that PJ change it up every night, I think it's worthwhile to see a show you know the band have worked out and made so that it's the best you'll see, not just a collection of songs.

Elevation, Stuck and Walk On need to not ALL be at the show at once IMO, switch them up. How bout some When I Look at the World or Original of the Species?

When I Look At The World...I doubt they will play it, but it'd be fu**ing epic
