1. Surely someone will share the files with you both soon, considering that not doing so would result in a ban, as the title of the thread clearly states:
"NO SHARING OF FILES, RESULTS IN BAN".

I don't think anything will ever get into that territory. Not even if an album came out that was somehow objectively better. There's too much built around those albums now, music aside, for ANYTHING to make its way up to that level. What I mean is for instance, part of what sets Achtung apart is that it was a massive reinvention. U2 could never have a reinvention of that magnitude again, because they're already done it.
I agree, but it’s sitting right below them which is a very good place to be.

U2 don't really need to prove anything. JT and AB came at very pivotal parts of their career: JT was the album that effectively decided whether they would become stadium rock giants or that stagnant outfit; AB was the necessary survival amid a musical landscape evolving all around them, which they absolutely had to fit into. For some reason, they still use that last part. Bono said in From the Sky Down, "Achtung Baby is the reason we still are a band today." They learned a lot from that album and it taught them how to be contemporary, and while that is a good trait to behold it doesn't always work out successfully. I'm trying to avoid using the word "relevancy" here, but that's what they want. Let's stay contemporary and use Kendrick Lamar on our new album because he's what's in at the moment.

I'll say the biggest positive on the album is Adam's bass. It's incredible.

First listen to SOI was "it's a bit forced, but not really bad..." and then grew a lot from there

I thought you said "beware of the Stranger Things syndrome"
  8. OFF TOPIC ALERT

Just saw this at the bottom:

    did you know
The song 'Stranger In A Strange Land' is about the English people, being "strangers" in the "strange land" of Ireland during the war, or vice versa.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh as someone currently reading U2byU2, Bono clearly says this song is about a moment when they were in Germany, and German police thought Paul was smuggling human beings in the back of a van lol - and just in general the feeling of being on tour for the first time.

WHICH ONE IS RIGHT, U2START?! TELL ME!

I agree, but if they are still looking for ''relevancy'' I think this is the best they could come up with. In a positive way. I was scared for relevancy in some other context but this is album is alright.

For me The Little Things, Landlady and Love Is Bigger are amazing. Then there's the first two songs and 13 which are great, the rest is alright. Best Thing and American Soul aren't doing it for me and I skip them.

I never thought of it this way, I suppose you're right.
