1. i'm still buying all 2 versions of War. I'm not buying it for the bonus disc though. Purely for the remastered album. That is just a poor bonus disc.
  2. The only thing about the War Bonus Disc is that all the B-Sides from that era are mostly just different mixes of "New Year's Day" and "Two Hearts Beat as One" anyway. So I can't complain too much.

If anything, I could see them re-releasing "Under a Blood Red Sky" with the full Red Rocks and St. Goarshausen footage on the DVD. Now that would be sweet.

By the way, this is my 250th post... I am a boy and a girl. A Boy-Girl.
  3. Congrats. I'm really debating whether or not to buy the deluxe editon of War....I mean, come on. They could've done so much better...

True...Even live tracks would've been better. Or package War with Under A Blood Red Sky....(Oh, wait, that would make too much sense...)

Blood Red Sky is to much of a cash cow to release as a bonus. That'l be all packaged up one day as a proper release of it's own and it'l rake it in

I think every hardcore fan of any band wants them to release a kind of Beatles Anthology-type CD so they can see the artistic process. But here's the problem: I feel that The Beatles deserved that right because of how creative and fascinating they really were in their development. Most bands aren't like that, as much as we want them to be.

So releasing demos or alternate takes of these songs wouldn't be as interesting, unlike in the Joshua Tree Bonus where they had the songs that evolved into other songs. Now, that was interesting...

That's exactly what I was implying with "Oh, wait that would make too much sense." Doesn't mean I won't buy it lol
  9. I'm still in doubt...I might wait until you guys have it. If the remastered songs are really improved, I will buy them.

judging by the fact that the originals are lots older on JT and the difference was awesome i'd say that even the single disc editions would be worth the purchase on their own. I want the vinyls

Good point there, but would it be possible to improve these old recordings to sound something like modern recordings? Anyway, I'll see

I don't think thats the goal with the remasters. They don't want the recordings to sound new or modern, they simply want them to sound how they wanted them to sound in the first place but they couldn't because of equipment etc. I expect subtle but massive improvements across the board, especially with Boy and War
