The sound sucks, the click-wheel is completely loose, the hold button doesn't even hold, the menu sucks, the interface is shit, iTunes is very quickly becoming ultimately crap, there's enhancements which no person wants like a screensaver, you can no longer use your old accessories hardly, and it scratches up like a lottery ticket - oh yeah, and the screen is glass as well so it cracks and scratches quite well, no longer plastic. Save your money and go for a Creative or a Zune - I know I will be. Apple fucked up big-time on these shits. It seemed they only rushed it out in time for Christmas and pretended it was a better thing, and needed to show something off for their conference.

That sure doesn't sound to well but I have already bought myself one.
But doesn't the sound depens on the earplugs you have?
Either way, I hope my Nano will be better then the Classic ones.

  2. i won't get it but wat about the nano? , is it the same as bad as the classic?

I think maybe just the classic has the problems (and I believe it's to do with the new system and the hard drive), because the classic just cannot handle simple things like turning up volume, changing songs, creating play-lists etc without struggling. The nano uses flash memory, which has no moving parts and therefore probably isn't slow. I haven't tried out a nano myself, but I'd be interested to see if the same problems do indeed occur.

If you're not overly worried by sound or things being slow or having lots of extra colours and enhancements on your screen, then it's probably good enough. Then again, if you were a true audiophile or audio freak you wouldn't use an iPod.

Flash Memory (nano, touch) has no moving parts and is quicker at doing things. Literally, "in a flash".

Hard Drives (classic) do have moving parts, therefore slowing things doing. Literally, "hard drive".

I would be more than happy to test one out next time I go to the Apple store to see - that'd be Monday afternoon if I can.

I like a good sound but doesn't see myself as a aduiophile really. Are just a little suprised cause I have friends that have Ipod's and haven't heard a bad word from them.

What model? The classic, video, photo, nano, mini, touch, phone, shuffle? Shuffle also uses flash.

The top is flash memory, the bottom is a hard drive. That needle has to be spinning around almost all the time. The flash memory, as you can see, doesn't have a needle or a head, so...it has nothing to move, meaning faster response.

I think most of my friends do have Nano when I think of it. One of them has Classic but I haven't really talked about her ipod since she got it.

I understand what you mean with the differenties. I hope my Nano will work well. Will come back with news when I have it in my hand

Good luck with it. Actually, Ali709 has one of the nanos - have you spoken to him about it?
