I now have an iPod classic and it is the worst piece of crap I've ever used, and a serious waste of hard-earned money (and I was warned against it). The sound sucks, the click-wheel is completely loose, the hold button doesn't even hold, the menu sucks, the interface is shit, iTunes is very quickly becoming ultimately crap, there's enhancements which no person wants like a screensaver, you can no longer use your old accessories hardly, and it scratches up like a lottery ticket - oh yeah, and the screen is glass as well so it cracks and scratches quite well, no longer plastic. Save your money and go for a Creative or a Zune - I know I will be. Apple fucked up big-time on these shits. It seemed they only rushed it out in time for Christmas and pretended it was a better thing, and needed to show something off for their conference.

By all means, get yourself one but be prepared for problem after problem after problem. It's your choice. They're not made like they used to be, which is the problem.

If you're not overly worried by sound or things being slow or having lots of extra colours and enhancements on your screen, then it's probably good enough. Then again, if you were a true audiophile or audio freak you wouldn't use an iPod.

The top is flash memory, the bottom is a hard drive. That needle has to be spinning around almost all the time. The flash memory, as you can see, doesn't have a needle or a head, so...it has nothing to move, meaning faster response.
