  1. Today the Italian team successfully proved why no one outside Italy likes Italian football. Boring match, especially on the Italian side. I'm happy they're out. It's a shame that these great players never get the coach's orders to actually play football. During the whole tournament they didn't score a single goal out of the running match. Personally, I strongly believe that with a more offensive strategy they should have been able to win the match... plus making it watchable for Non- Italians.

    An Italian friend told me smilingly today that the Dutch football team always "dies in beauty". If this is true then we have to face the fact that Italy "died in uglyness".

    On the other hand... most people outside Germany don't like the German football either. Heck, who cares?

    Well, erm, outside of Canada, it's a bit difficult to say - I only know of Toronto FC because they have 3 players fairly well known to myself (Jim Brennan, Carl Robinson and Danny Dichio - the former 2 played for my own club Norwich City, and Danny Dichio was always a decent striker in English football wherever he played), and thus I can't really make much comment lol.

  7. Afterall, who guessed that Spain, Russia, Turkey and Germany would be in the semis? Germany is quite logic, because they are real cupfighters. But I never expected Turkey, Russia and Spain there. I guess Germany will reach the final, because Turkey suffers a lot from injuries and suspensions. Spain vs. Russia is doubtfull. Russia has improved a lot since the 4-1 defeat in the first match against Spain. I wonder how things are now.

    My dad does. He's fanatic when it comes to German national team, believe me : ))

    Anyway, I'm really, really that Italy is out.

    Besides, if Russia continues playing like they did against Holland, no country in the world would stand a chance verseus them.

    the German team can -- if they play good. which is never a given plus, the Dutch were very weak when they played against Russia...
  11. the germans are very hard to defeat once they are on this 'wave' and playing well.
    we really are a football nation we carry the team up to the clouds once there's a good game and then they get better and better... it'll be really difficult for whoever comes next.
