Who says anyone who doesn't follow a Christian life is following a life of Satan?

To me, that would suggest living a life of scorn, disdain and generally being a selfish uncaring bastard, none of which I'd argue that I am. I don't go around intentionally hurting others, I don't seek to exploit the misfortune of others, I try to make something of this one life that I've got - why should I be punished for trying to live a good life, but not believe in something that I don't feel exists?

(please note - I'm not trying to get at you mate, I just wanna discuss ideas etc. )

God gives you a free will and you decide for yourself whether you follow Him or Satan. It isn't about whether God is almighty, it's about free will He gave us.
  3. My question is why people decide to force their religious beliefs upon other people.... doesn't that start conflict, such as places like the Middle East?

a little scripture to back you up..

    2 Peter 3: 8-9

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

That's why faith is such a difficult thing. You won't get a lot of smiling faces when you spread the word.

My question is, if there is only one God who exists, why do we have different religions worshipping different gods? Yes, you have the Abrahamic religions who, to all intents and purposes, worship the same god yet there are those who refuse to accept that, but then what about Hinduism? How are they any more right or wrong than other theistic religions?

But say you have two members of different theistic religions preaching what they believe to be the word - who's more right than the other?

Read the posts Yeah, I've explained this for 2 times now. It's okay if you don't understand it.

My question to you: You said you were raised by a Christian father and Jewish mother..did you ever believe (so yes, what stopped you?) or have you never believed it?

Actually it is about if he is almighty or not, that's what the churches tell us.

What about the free will of a new born child that dies? Did it decide to die?
What abeout natural disasters? Were they all caused by humans (including the big flood)?

True...some folks are way too fanatic. There is a borderline. If people are open to discuss it, like here, it's okay. I'm not forcing my faith here, I know some or most don't want me to do that. So I don't. But if people are open to it, you can discuss what you want. But don't force it. Charles the Great did it...he wasn't a great king in that way

I've read your posts. It's just, they don't make sense. They still don't solve that Theodicy problem.

I never believed. Luckily, my parents didn't push me to any religion, I was never baptised and don't plan to be.
