MacWorld starts on January 5 - 9, so it's a possibility - what a great event to release your first single.
Does that say a (RED) iPhone?
indeed...
there will be a (RED) iPHONE released as well...

Originally posted by AllBecauseOfU2:The thread on Interference on this is claiming it's not true. Posters said that people on the U2 Spainish forums say that Spain had their April Fool's Day yesterday, and this is supposedly a hoax.
BUT no one has given concrete evidence against it, so...could be true!![]()

That would be an anti-climax here.

Ok, for those who don't speak spanish...
I haven't got the time right now to translate the whole text, but here are the highlights:
1) U2miracle.com contacted Pedro Aznar (Chief coordinator of the Spanish Apple website), who confirmed that the band will be present on January 6th at the Moscone Center in San Francisco in the inaugural event of the MACWORLD.
2) The band will be there presenting the first single of the new album, the single is "GET YOUR BOOTS ON".
3) The single will be availiable on iTunes after the event.
4) the album will be on iTunes two weeks before the release date (March 2nd) and it will include 5 new songs that won't be released in the CD version, plus the music video for the single.
5) THE COMPLETE U2 will be also availiable, including the new album....
so that's about 9 freaking days for the new single!!!!
Enjoy the ride!!!!

I'm sick of Bono and I am him. As an artist I felt it was a little limiting to be in the first person, so I allowed myself to wear the clothes of characters that wandered into my imagination.
How many tracks did you leak?. Oh man, it might have been a few. I'm not so precious about that stuff. But the others don't like it very much.
U2 are currently working on releasing No Line On The Horizon as a downloadable widget - a piece of interactice software - complete with artwork and lyrics.
I'd like to make it better value by creating an experience that you can't have just by ripping it off.
If you wanted to attack me, the tax thing was a hook you could hang the hook on. But, look, it's a handy one if the singer looks like he needs a clap around the head.
Do you see any contenders for U2's golden belt coming up? Who wants it? The Killers want it. And, wow, there's melody for you. Kings of Leon - his voice on the new album...I would love to see more people try to knock us out.
What are the plans for the new tour?I think it's fair to say that what we've planned for outdoors has never been done before and that we've been working on it for a long time. It's a feat of engineering genius.
Why does the world need U2 in 2009? Well....we have joy. We have rage. We're unreasonable. We can take a punch. But we can throw one.

Right now what seems to be inspiring us is the sense of the music being almost like you're listening back to something that happened in real time. That kind of experience is more and more rare. It's not been put through Pro Tools to the point where it's totally perfect and everything's really tight, which is what tends to happen these days. Cos that really starts to suck the personality out of it

We're not going to apologise like we have for every other bloody record and say 'If we'd had more time this would have been better or that would have been better...'. We've really got into these songs and they've been finished to the best of our abilities.
ref the beach leaks I'm of the opinion now that if people have the time to be on computers 12 hours a day listening to bits of U2 songs recorded over phones.... fair dues to them. (;))

None of us want to accept good, or even very good. We want to be in a different place. So The Killers can dream as much as they like about U2 retiring and letting them take the spot, but they're going to have to fight a little harder!
Look, I'm not toeing any party line at all, that's not in my nature. I admire him (Bono) for what he's done. I believe it will be his legacy. He still does his job: he's still capable of writing great lyrics, he's got great pipes - it hasn't interfered with being in a band. My biggest problem really is sometimes the company he keeps. And I struggle with that. Particularly Tony Blair - I mean, I think he's a war criminal. And I think he should be tried as a war criminal. And then I see him and Bono as pals, and I'm going: I don't like that. He would know how I feel about Tony Blair. You can't deny the price for what he's doing is huge. What are the benefits? (for him) A photograph with a politician. Well, that's not a benefit. But as an outsider looking in, I cringe. And he does too, I've seen him.
Potentially, I think it's some of the best music we've ever written. That's not the party line, I really believe that.
