1. i do agree with some of the pop sentiments im seeing...towards the end of popmart those songs were amazing. mofo still remains one of my favourite live songs. i think the band is so hard on themselves concerning pop that they tend to stay away from it, gone was great live also.

for anyone who hasnt dabbled too much in popmart (i know this is a u2 fan forum for a bootleg site ) you must get the santiago show

haha that would be great, tho idk if id want to hear that every night.
i did forget to mention please, another amazing song live
  4. Let's keep it about the rehearsals..enough Pop-topics and 'We want this or that'-threads.

  5. i am a bit upset yeah! i was really hoping that there would be a bit more variation after the similarity of the last two tours but it seems pretty much more of the same...

i am also a realist and i'm not asking for bsides like promenade etc! all i'm saying is there's a LOT of songs that are still commercial and wouldn't disappoint or bore the casuals HMTMKMKM, EBTTRT, Lemon etc etc etc that havn't been played for absolutely years that they could easily have brought back to give us something fresh that a lot of us never got to hear live or havn't heard for years...

it is massively disappointing... i remember a time when U2 weren't all that interested in just pleasing the masses and actually liked to challenge people who went to see them Live...

there is still some time to go mate. they might still bring back some oldies. and they will keep on playing this tour in 2010.

I think (hope) the NLOTH songs should keep them and us interested. They're still getting used to playing those songs in addition to re-learning UV etc. I think I'd rather have well-rehearsed and spot-on performances of the new material than poorer performances of random older songs just for the sake of playing them.
I've got wish lists and complaints, but when it comes time for the actual concert, I'll be happy with whatever they play.

anything i have said refers to the choice of old songs being too similar to the last two tours - i cannot WAIT to hear the NLOTH songs live - especially moment of surrender!!

  8. I honestly don't think we're seeing all they have prepared.

I don't know if I mentioned it before, but U2 were given a special room inside the Camp Nou to rehearsal, the rehearsals that have been rerported are only the SOUNDCHECKS, this is, the audio set-ups of the stadium, levels, reverbs and such things. They might play 30 times Vertigo and the soundcheck would be equalliy valid for them. They are not (neccesarely) rehearsing new material for the tour. They are just warming up and setting things up with "random" material (most of it will be part of the tour obviously, but don't see what it all is).

True, I see your point. But it's too early to judge them..they have been rehearsing for 3 days with still 1.5 week left before the tour starts. I also want to see Lemon etc. instead of Elevation, but give them time and judge afterwards.

but thats true -they know their devoted fans will be outside listening and passing info on to people like us so they might be saving some surprises for the opening night for people like us....!

  12. If they play Ultraviolet then who's really gonna pcare what they play for the rest of the show?
