1. Muse are best from those bands. Radiohead have some good songs, but many songs are so boring for me. Killers... just a few songs from the first album (Somebody Told Me etc..) are good but I can't stand the rest.
Muse have some heavy guitars and it is what I'm looking for in rock

Matt Bellamy isnt exactly a poet, nevermind Thom Yorke, he isnt even as good as Brandon Flowers and he's prettty sloppy himself.

And it is pretty much universally agreed that Matt Bellamy imitates Thom Yorke's music style, critics, press, fans and even Yorke himself have said as much.

    What utter cock.

  3. Well thats what they say! Everyone, friends, people on forums, critics ... it's a pretty common belief.
....And Bellamy -- long derided as a Thom Yorke sound-alike .....

It's pretty hard to disagree that Thom Yorke practically invented that style of singing, like Edge with his delay pedal.

Matt Bellamy doesnt sing identically to Thom Yorke but you can clearly see where he gets his inspiration from.

Matt's voice is closer to Thom's than even Chris Martin's and Brandon's voice is definitely more distinctive (if not technically better), he doesn't really sound like anyone.

And, while you may not like Radiohead, (i'm not a big fan either).
You have to admit that they are critics' darlings and possibly the most critically acclaimed band of the 90s/00s.

Why dont you just stop comparing apples to oranges? lol

And now we're at it; some people adore Muse and completely dislike Radiohead and vica versa, doesnt that mean they have a completely different sound? Otherwise you'd love both or hate both

I dunno, many U2 fans hate Coldplay and they're pretty similar too.
Muse does have a different sound to Radiohead, but the vocals are pretty similar. If Thom Yorke sang with aggression he would sound like Matt Bellamy.

I love Radiohead. I just don't get the comparison. At all.

Ok, maybe on Muse's first LP, I grant you (Muscle Museum sounds a lot like The Bends (track, not album)), but since then? No way. Not even a little bit.

    Muse are just Queen copycats....

Are we talking about vocals or overall sound?
They are not close at all in terms of overall sound but vocals (especially on their early albums) who else sounds more similar to Thom Yorke than Matt Bellamy?
  9. and that's the sound of credibility leaving the building...
  10. I get that they sound a lot alike but Yorke is WAY to reserved in his vocals. Especially now. He was awesome pre-Kid A but since then he's kind of been holding back IMO. I love Radiohead but when you compare them to Muse Muse is catching up fast. I think Muse is better but I still think they have their best ahead of them while I think Radiohead seems to have their best behind them (the bends, ok computer). I did love In Rainbows though.

Bellamy just has a much more powerful voice IMO. Yorkes is more diverse but its like listening to two people who each have pretty much the same voice except that Bellamy screams while Yorke whispers and IMO that benefits them both.

    But I much prefer Bellamy.

    Couldn't have said it better
