1. I slightly changed my mind about WOWY. It's a bit like the Popmart versions. Just another interpretation. I like it.

Can we now discuss Moment of Surrender again?

Nope, not before Mr vanquish makes another statement

  3. What a great idea

Here's a question: has Bono really chosen 'vision over visibility'? Or does his visibility cloud his vision and his ubiquitousness on the world stage obscure the message of his cause?

Edited to move the question to the General Philosophy thread, where apparently I've set up camp.

    We have a philosophy topic..

  5. LOL. Sorry.

I'm procrastinating really badly over the work I brought home with me and that brings out the barstool philosopher in me.

  6. Doesn't matter, I'm okay with it..just post it over there lol
  7. Time for a bit of a multi-quote from the master (I have no modesty) and a chance to wade into an outdated debate ...

When in doubt, blame the big fella. Streets was insane at Sheffield, it was one of those Kodak moments in life that I will never ever forget, much the same as ISHFWILF at Wembley. For the record, Streets was pretty immense there too as far as popping my U2 cherry was concerned, but it was just so much better 2nd time around.

The live versions don't really add anything to the song either unlike MoS for example which gets a fantastic new bassline live.

Can't agree re. Streets, but that's opinion - assuming you get the chance to experience it in the flesh one day, that might change but on the other hand, it might not. And re. MoS, I have a funny feeling the bassline you refer to isn't actually anything to do with Adam at all, but Edge palm-muting notes on the Gretsch - this is assuming I interpreted you correctly when you brought it up ages ago. Watch the Saturday Night Live version and if what you're hearing is what I think you're hearing, keep an eye on Edge playing his guitar.

I miss the JT/LT/ZooTV solo-ey bits and regular Shine Like Stars/Love Will Tear Us Apart snips., if only in a post-nostalgic manner of speaking, but I've got a thing for WOWY live in any form, and thus can't help but love it lol. Call me a soppy old sod á la Del Trotter, but I do. There's something fabulous about the song which just does it for me.

    *shrugs*

Anyway, as you say, back to MoS before I and others get carried away with wading into the fray
