Well, small EU countries can't really gain the cultures of big ones if they have different languages. You guys speak just English. There's plenty of languages in the EU.

At a time, 2/3 of the countries can vote and the right to vote circulates with time? wtf. What the leaders want to do is to create a superpower like the USA. They somehow do not get that there are way too many differences to create a federation like that. Languages, cultures etc.

    Exactly
They should take the time for this. It doesnt have to be one union tomorrow or next week. There's plenty of time.
First thing to do is to get over differences like culture and language. Make sure every area in Europe has enough money to send children to school, to learn English.

I can also see why loads of people disagree with turning this into one union; after all, it's "just" 70 years ago when there was a big war going on. It's "just" 20 years ago when the cold war was still going on and europe had a wall in the middle.

However, those differences can dissapear, it just needs time and a lot of work. Just make people vote "yes" doesnt change anything.

  3. Create such a Treaty all countries are comfortable with and go ahead. Lisbon can't really work if it's not the same for all countries. Ireland has got some exceptions, Czech Republic is asking for some before the President signs it and now the wanker who happens to be our Prime Minister wants to get some exceptions, too.

Haha, couldn't have said it better. Wise words m'man
  5. I dont see why the EU needs to be a super power. I mean we have NATO and for economical purposes the current EU will do. I dont want to learn English as a first language. I dont want to share the same culture as the other countries. Because every culture will loose a lot.

And that's why the Treaty of Lisbon is not a good thing. I hoped the Czech President would not sign it, but a while ago he told some newspaper that ''the process can't be stopped''. If only he had waited until the elections in the UK. Conservatives are most likely to gain power over there and they have promised a ballot about the Treaty, which would bury it.
  7. I love this topic. It proves the point that we're one, but we're not the same.
  8. Finally some consensus..now it's up to the rest of the world.
    Peace out
  9. Latest chapter in my debate to join the military. I'm leaning towards Air force again. Specificially the field of EOD.
  10. i mis our gun control arguements. If someone is trying to kill me or another, I have a god-given right to put a pair of .45 ACP hollow points in that fuckers face. Ask your self this: Would you rather kill someone, or know that an innocent person died, and you could have prevented it?
