1. Live From Rotterdam! God that brings back memories!
( *puts on POPmart DVD*.... )
  2. Love it, Top 3 tours for me
  3. Love it as well. My favourite tour next to ZooTv and Lovetown (and maybe 360).
  4. LOVE It!!!!!

That POPHEart EP is one of my Favorites of all time!!!!

I really enjoy POP!! Please is one of my top songs from the band. I love Gone, Wake Up, Feel Loved, Stareing at the Sun, and Last Night!! It's such a great album!!!

I just wish I would have had the chance to see the Tour, watching the concert footage and hearing the boots, I thought it was a great tour!!! YAY!!! POP!!!

I think I'm going to put on the concert DVD now!!! Good Times!!!
  5. Still kicking myself for missing Popmart. I had no money at the time, and had to pass. I remember the empty feeling thinking that U2 was in my town, and I wasn't there. From the DVD and boots, I have to say its one of their best. The only downside is the static setlist, but they make up for it with a quality selection. One of my favorite things about Popmart is SBS through Streets. The "hits" section of the last few tours are yawn inducing, but that strech on Popmart never gets old.

  6. Why was my answer so difficult to comprehend?

PopMart was great when it was executed right. Unfortunately, due to lack of rehearsal, it took them much longer for the tour to gain traction than most of their other tours.

However, one general opinion I have about any U2 tour, regardless of success or not, is when U2 are bad... they're soul-crushingly bad.

  7. yeah i have been to those two shows on the 18 & 19 of juli 1997
first night was great ...second night way much better ..
i was in the snakepit right before the lemon ........
two nights i never will forget ...
  8. Looking for to fill that God-shaped hole...

Still marvellous even though it's their forgotten period among casuals.

    Completely agree.

Leeds, Sarajevo, Santiago = pure U2 gold.

    Agree with Dan too.

My third favorite tour after Zoo and Lovetown. Love it.
  10. Love love love. but the guys look a right kettle of piss. worst stage look EVER.(the clothing not the arch).
  11. Bono looked cool,Edges white cowboy look was terrible!

o yea... but for me it was more that I was too young to understand I better fork out the money to go see my favorite band promoting my favorite album. Back then, the tickets were actually, relatively speaking, cheaper, from what I hear.

In later years, when I got to hear and see bootlegs, it hurt a bit, having missed the eccentric POPmart. (Vertigo, too, but that couldn't be helped - it was impossible for me to come by affordable tickets.)

Yes, I do notice the lack of variety across that tour - but didn't that trend start with ZooTV? In recent times, I suppose the boys have been trying to make up for it (alas, the back catalogue has only grown longer) so they seem intent on shoveling ever more dirt on the grave of POP. Bono, here's a hint: That little line from Mofo before City of Blinding Lights really doesn't cut it.

Oh well, I'm just counting my blessings that they played virtually every POP song, at least once.
