1. MoS actually has some kind of guitar line.
  2. Still a bad choice for single. Not because the song isn't good, because it's the best track on the album imo. But you kill the song when you shorten it.

we havent even heard the single edit yet. maybe they'll put an alternative version out (not likely though). lets wait, until then we cant say anything about it

  4. Yea, at 4 mins that's pretty much butchery

Well, the album version doesn't have any guitar in the verses. You can only really hear after the bridge in the solo and outro (perhaps in the chorus too)

I am hoping like hell they do an alternate, different mix. Remember the album version was basically an impromptu, one take performance so there is definitely room to improve.
  5. Please no single, a shortened version would kill the beautiful song..

  6. yeh its not right to shorten it, Magnificent single is crap with no intro and only one bar of solo, just release Breathe FFS.

breathe would have been cut off as well. probably the solo and intro. stand up comedy would have been popular for sure, and I think No Line 2 would have had a good chance as well

    bass guitar

All in all I think it's pretty much logically they chose Moment Of Surrender as a single. Wether you like it or not; U2 always release some harder tunes as singles (Get On Your Boots), some more pop songs as single (Crazy Tonight, Magnificent) and at least one ballad/slower song (with MOS being arguably the better song to release as single compared with White As Snow and Cedars Of Lebanon). In one album-era this all is...

    So...we could've seen it coming...
  10. It will be speeded up a bit, like SYCMIOYO I think.
