1. I agree selection starts (too) soon. I know its not black and white and the cause of their actions need to be researched Of course it should be promoted to keep learning at school, but paying is a bridge too far.

All I want is that we dont sugar coat everything here. And that criminals get what they deserve
  2. Tribute to the FDNY, and the sacrifices they faced on 9/11. Hard not to cry while watching it.

Iys funny. I was 11 when 9/11 happened, and watched it as it happened on the news, and did not shed a single tear. Nowadays, I can barely watch something like this without getting choked up. Still dont cry though. I long ago learned to turn my sadness into anger.

I'd even say, selection starts before we're born.
As for the "paying" question, I can't imagine anyone would think it's a solution. It just corrups. We must find other ways to motivate people. And that's hard if certain groupes have to face stigmatization. Vicious circle.

  4. True, major part of the world population is cut out before they're born. It could have been me or you...
  5. Wilders wins in Almere and The Hague. Man that guy scares the shit out of me.
Great results for D'66 though. Quite satisfied

  7. Intresting military report, an the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of U.S. weapons in Afghanistan.

Edit: It seems the U.S. military has lost its ability to "reach out and touch someone" as they say.

In my opinion as a bit of a small-arms afficianado, I'd recomend the adoption of the Barrett Rec 7. Same basic design as the M4/M16, but it has a more reliable operating system, and is chambered in the 6.8mm SPC, much better suited for combat than the 5.56mm cartridge.

  8. Ahdmadinijhad is making a fool of himself once again.

  9. 1. It's Ahmadinejad.
    2. The US are likely to invade Iran sooner or later.

  10. At the very least, I forsee a Direct Action/ Hostage Rescue mission to get those Americans there holding.
  11. There hasen't been any good international news in some time.

  12. Iran has confirmed death penalty for six people who took part in demonstrations in December. Good enough?
