  1. This injury is very unfortunate for the tour and, most importantly, Bono himself. As much as we revere him, we have to remember that he is only human, a human at 50 years of age to be exact. For him to be on tour at that age is a feat in itself. I feel that Bono won't let us down.



    Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but during the Vertigo Tour U2 had to postpone a show they were supposed to play in Japan. In the end, they made it up by playing three shows in the Tokyo Superdome. If U2 has to postpone shows in Salt Lake, and even Anaheim, I feel that there is a possibility that they will add additional shows to make up for it. If this does happen, then there may still be a chance for me to see my first show without having to leave the country.


    But the tour should be put on the back burners for now. If Bono needs to take some extra time to recover, he should do that. Bono's health should be his top priority.


  2. I am sure they'll be back. U2 missed the central and northern parts of the country last time through....there is too much money to be made by pissing off and alienating a good portion of their fans in the US.

    Your wrong. They never played in Tokyo during Vertigo Tour. They played 3 nights at Saitama.

    Get well Bono and take it easy!

    When the band postponed Australia and NZ during the Vertigo Tour they promised they would come back and they did... i can't imagine how much $$$ this cost them but they kept their word and came back when everything was better health wise.

    don't panic about cancellations folks- our experience in 2006 shows they will do everything possible to keep their fans happy.
  6. The boy became a man and the man gets old. Let's hope it isn't severe and that they will return to SLC some day. Hope Bono recovers well and will be able to perform at Glastonbury at the end of June.

    A pity nonetheless though

  10. ...back surgeries tend to be pretty major recoveries....

    I'm thinking that they'll just use Glatso as the opening of the tour, now, and finish off the rest of the dates afterwards, potentially adding a "micro-leg" of the postponed shows.

    Get better soon, Bono. If your own words can heal hearts, hopefully they can heal your pain and your spirits too
  11. I suspect they will take every precaution to ensure a full recovery before embarking on the massive tour schedule.

    I wouldn't be surprised to see all of the North American June / July 2010 dates postponed and have the tour resume in Europe (Turnin) as scheduled in August. They could then come back to North America in mid-October (similar to last year) and finish up in Anaheim before it gets too cold.

    Regardless, a wish of good health and speedy recovery to Bono.
  12. We don't exactly know what is the problem with the back of Bono, but it's not is first problem with is back !
