I had seats instead of GA and watching from afar the Claw is HUGE!! Dang it was intense. Last night was off the hook and the band seemed very excited to come back to the states. Bono said during the show, "you were two years younger when you bought these tickets".

As far as the setlist is concerned, the band was in such good shape it didn't matter what they played it was all AMAZING!!! Zooropa, Stay, All I Want and Pride were the highlights for me if I had to pick. Since we waited so long for this everything was Great. It didn't matter what they played they were Awesome!

For me this show is the best Ever and I can't wait for the bootleg to arrive!!
Soon I'll post pictures from the show on facebook. And I did meet Bono and Edge! They are so Cool and down to earth. Love them!! My dream came true!!

So happy for you! Glad you had such a great time!

you'll be my welcome guest at the next show here
"Immagine in cornice" .. uhm .. what a suggestive scenario in the Arena in Verona .. in Milan Eddie said we're the best singers in the world .. what a pander hehe .. He loves Italy also cause he fell in love with his woman here
i can confirm that the PJ shows at MSG are simply awesome .. like In Seattle (Gorge amphitheater ) .. the 4 shows in Philly '09 and like a lot a lot of US Shows.
so it's less understandable for me what "sometimes" happens in U2 shows lately

I was lucky enough to travel all around Europe for 5 months,spring/summer/fall 2000. I saw Pearl Jam in Barcelona, and Italy..yes..the famous Millan show 06.22.00.The crowd in Milan were amazing that night,I loved the way they sang (in English) word for word, standout moment was Nothingman.

I also saw Radiohead in Warrington,England10.02.00.That was a brilliant gig.But the English crowds,IMO,were different with each show, with each band.

Example being, my Oasis show, at the old Wembley, July 2000.The cowd (in GA) were young, and very, very drunk.Fights and throwup were all about.Liam was wasted as well.

The English crowd in Warrington,Victoria Park, was more reserved, older and more sophisticated at the Radiohead gig.The Radiohead fans were more intellectuals, and had a better understanding of the music and the moment. In other words....Zero fans fighting, and zero throwup, from my points of view of course..

So,what is my conclusion here.I think each show, with each band,is different. The fans for each band are different. Most of the Oasis fans I spoke to before, during and after the Wembley show, said they hate Radiohead, and their fans EVEN MORE.I did not identify myself as a Radiohead fan of course.LOL.

In America, most of U2s fans are older, like me.Im 44,and I have been a fan since 1982,when I was 16.Im not about to jump around and act mad at any show,at my age.Im there for the music.I enjoy each show I attend.I study the band and really watch what they are doing onstage.I wont scream and yell over the band, with my back to the band.I will drink a few Guinness and have a great time.I think the American fans that go see Pearl Jam,are younger, and more rowdy and vocal.I just wish, some of the people, that say American fans are quiet, could attend a U2,Bruce or Pearl Jam concert at MSG.You might change your opinion.
  4. For sure, New York and Boston (and other places as well, I know) have specially U2-dedicated audiences... but once again, look, that's the places with the biggest Irish influence and population ... I didn't want to start this long-term discussion again, it just surprised me that a big mainstream song like COBL didn't get a reaction in a suppossed U2-forthouse like Denver is said to be. Just that. I'm not asking that every person in the stadium sings Zooropa or Scarlet word-by-word at the top of their lungs (we have Mexico for that), I'm not asking for them to shut up Bono's speech with their chants (we have Brussels for that)... I'm just asking for a bit more of passion, that's all. Radiohead fans can go to Radiohead shows

Very true Sergio. You have alot of Irish here in NY and Boston. One of my top 5 shows EVER,U2 St. Pattys Day,Boston,MA 03.17.92.

    Amazing night.Zoo TV indeed.

  6. Nice find.Band sound very good. The audience seem good to me,not like they are attending a funeral pyre.I can hear them as Bono walks out.No corpses burning there.LOL

On U2.com,subscribers can watch the whole Boots performance from Denver.Crowd sound very good, you cant really see them much, cause of the lighting.Boots sounded very good at this show.I like the start with the extra "da da da das ' Solid version I must admit.Im sure Denver was a great time.Cant wait for my shows in Canada, then Philly and NY.
  7. Great performance of Even Better. Does anybody know how much of the drumming is pre-recorded?
  8. Great, GREAT to see that U2.com is finally releasing full pro-shot songs and not just 40-seconds snippets from each show.
  9. Wow, from this thread seems like we can't all just accept the simple pleasures of the moment anymore...

I'll lay it down like this as a longtime fan since '83 or so - sweet show - best from a technological standpoint, musically tight, and emotionally as powerful as ZooTV which I have always regarded as the best I have seen out of several hundred I have seen in my lifetime. Edge's rig also had that "clear as a bell" signature sound that I love.

    Standouts:
    Magnificent
    Stay
Until the end of the world
    Hold Me, Thrill Me

Of course the others were great as well.

    Great night in Denver!

    Cheers all...

  10. It really was a great performance I was wondering that too, it doesn't look THAT prerecorded based on this, there's like two beats going on (which isn't that strange for them live)

  11. something is moving on the site
like the arms of the audience .. i've counted at least ten ... and it was Boots
