    In fact, and generalizing a bit, that comparison is mainly aplicable to the rest of the tour. Vertigo Tour was "alright", some other tours were "superb". That's where the difference truly is.
  2. I liked that they played older songs like An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart, Electric Co., Who's Gonna Ride, Gloria, Zoo Station, and more. The problem with Vertigo is it just wasn't as good as the other tours. Almost all the songs that have been played regularly on other tours were better than the Vertigo versions.
  3. The one thing I adored about Vertigo Tour was that they played many songs & sometimes had great setlist variety.
  4. Imagine if they'd brought back Lemon and Mofo, two songs they rehearsed. This topic would probably instead be about our undying love for Vertigo

The hair, the co-exist, the african flags, the net curtains, the spontaneous repeat of vertigo every night, the love and peace drumming, the zoo station chanting, the johnny come marching home, the ocean, Argentina jacket, the edges weird Fly guitar, the brazil jacket, the europe intro, the first time, the 3D....

    I did like the return of electric co and Bono's passion during sometimes. Like Elevation, loved it during but not so much on reflection.

  8. The coexist carry on was cringy. The shows didn't seem to flow, though there were some good performances. But My God, the Hair! Worst Bono hair ever. Luckily, Tom Hanks stole it for the Da Vinci Code.
  9. His '"Afrika m booyaaaaama" crap really got on my nerves after a while.
    I've said this before, I'll say it again.

    Bono shaking hands with Bush wasn't as cringeworthy and upsetting as seeing the ethereal beauty that is Streets get put into a Continental box.
  10. I think the thing that keeps Vertigo low on my list is the quality of Bono's voice. He had mighty struggles with his voice, and was hoarse on the 40 or so shows from the tour I have listened to or watched. I thought the setlists were fine, and liked the fact that the new songs were played.

    In contrast, his voice was much better on 360, but the band lost faith in the new songs. I would've liked "Breathe" to have remained the opener, with Mercy in the setlist, and had "Being Born(No Fez)," in there and have had "Crazy" left out, unless it was the album version. As a Pop fanatic, it was ironic that they ignore songs from Pop, yet remix a new song to sound like it came from Pop.

    But back on topic...Vertigo was a fine tour, it just lacked some quality with Bono's singing, and it had some very great tours to pale in comparison to.

  11. The first time I came face to face with Bono during the Brisbane Vertigo rehearsals, I wasn't expecting to see the short hair and was quite startled. Big improvement, though of course I didn't say that.

    I was too busy making a total dick of myself in other ways.
  12. I really like Vertigo Tour, but there are better tours. Just that.
