  3. need to rush to the GP. had severe heart rhythm problems all day yesterday. the night was good. now since I got out of bed it got bad again. heart stumbling every 10th beat or so. mom's taking me to the doc's office. it can't be bad, it just can't. I will go to Eire in 5 weeks. scared.

    Sergio, not a good date, this one today. remember one year ago? (for you it was the 15th, for me the 10th). need some good vibes.

    edit: seen 3 different hospitals from the inside today another round of examinations next week. The drugs I'm taking for the blood pressure are appearantly doing a bad job on my heart rhythm. A new, additional sort of drugs is due now at least no physical disorder of my heart, they could rule that out today.

    bottom line: don't get sick. ruins your day.
  4. Yes, of course I remember, darling... Not good indeed. I just don't know what to say... I'm really really hoping that your heart rhythm problems are soon solved and forgotten, and that you can soon stop taking another set of drugs... You really HAVE to go to Eire next month, you can't fail me on that! So, llisten to me, Kirsten's heart: you'd better get better NOW, or you'll have to face my anger .........

    It will get better Kristen - I am sure it is just a very temporary annoyance!
  6. I think my heart has taken your threat seriously, Sergio with a little help of a new drug. But this one does an enormous job. Which is, it slows down the heartbeat. You see, for years I've had a quicker heartbeat than normal, always around 100 bpm even when sitting around or lying down. Usually you have 60-70.
    Since the surgery and since the high blood pressure has hit me, it has always been fast, like 140 bmp when walking around and 100-120 when being inactive.
    Now on Monday my GP gave me some drugs that slow down the heartbeat. And I'm down to 60 bpm now when being inactive and no more than 80-90 when actually walking around or doing light work. And most of all --> the stumbling is decreasing! Slowly but I notice it.
    I also saw a cardiologist on Monday who did an ultrasound of my heart --> it is perfectly alright physically so now I have to go there again on Wednesday, get a long-term (24 hours) ECG, and on Thursday I'll have to do this ergo ECG thingy where you sit on a bike and do some sportive activity while they register my heart beat and all. I'm sweating already but that will hopefully tell where all this stumbling and so will come from.
    Like you said, Julien..... this annoyance will get better. And hopefully soon. Because, yeah true, I got a date with Ireland. I don't want to postpone again.

  12. here comes your monthly news update

    another round of check-ups have happened within the past days. woah, this is what I like. Not. Anyway.

    the oculist checked both eyes. Field of vision on the left eye is still 100% as before, on the right eye it is as limited as it was before the surgery. By now 8 months have gone by since the surgery (already.... where did time go), and still no recovery of the right visual nerve. So it might be it will stay this way for... well, forever. But that's okay with me as long as it won't get more limited. Thumbs up from the oculist

    the endocrinologist did a blood test, still waiting for his call with the results.

    the GP is still trying to get my stumbling heart rhythm in sync with lowering my blood pressure. We're slowly getting there, even though the side effects of the new medicine (vertigo, headaches,tiredness) are a pain in the butt. But it's far better than without any of those drugs, so I'm not complaining.

    the neurologist saw me this morning. She made an ultrasound of the aorta and its ramifications inside my head, including the section where the remaining tumour (that son of a b**** ) surrounds it. All looks good, clear way for my blood circulation. Thumbs up

    the next and final step of this new round of check-ups will be on December 6 with the new MRI scan of my head. Actually I'm looking forward to it, I need to know it looks good. There are too many thoughts and what-ifs crossing my mind when I sit in my room in the night and my mind begins to wander. So good blood test results are what I want to hear of and then it's on to the MRI.

    interesting, right? well, it's like Bono being tired of Bono. I'm tired of all this, but I can't get away from it, so there. Anyway, that's all for now. Let's put this topic down the list again quickly
