1. Patti Smith and Jack White come off best.
  2. Gavin Friday!!! wow!!!
  3. Hey guys I have a really dumb question. Who is on the front cover of the Q Mag. I went to buy a copy and saw the Nov. Issue with Green Day on the cover... No CD.

  4. i didnt think any of the songs would get airplay, thats cool that they r.
  5. The Killers version of Ultra Violet is really, REALLY growing on me!!

  6. Apart from the start i think its a really amazing cover, they did good.

The opening part is what makes it a Killers song to me. Sort of a Vegas nightclub/caberet and then BAM!
  9. The opening of Killers' Ultraviolet is dissonant. I think Brandon wanted to turn it into a Enterlude Part II but ended up being shit. I was expecting more from the Killers version
  10. Killers' opening was shit but I think he sings the high notes great. And I'm a guy who doesn't think highly of Brandon Flowers.
  11. Ok, so, few thoughts:

Zoo Station - like it, but really think Trent could have taking it further and really rammed up the heavy. Love the brooding feel of it, but felt it didn't go anywhere. Still a cool interpretation in my opinion.

EBTTRT - ok, not overly taken but an interesting adaptation.

One - already mentioned what I thought last time I was here, but yeah, just FAR too slow and I don't understand the switch from 'you' to 'I'. But, that's how he wanted to go about it, kudos.

UTEOTW - Loved it. The most surprising one for me - don't know much of Patti Smith's stuff but from what I know, I wasn't expecting much, but I was blown away.

WGRYWH - pretty cool, although I struggle to get into the tempo changes. A good cover though.

So Cruel - great. Loved the treatment on the synths, just, ooooh. Great vocals too.

The Fly - meh. Honestly, thought it was a bit crap. But hey ho.

TTTYAATW - really enjoyed it. Hardly a groundbreaking take, but a good cover that was much better than I thought they'd have put together.

Ultraviolet - awesome. Again, not groundbreaking, but an great song performed by a great band giving it everything they can. Only criticism would be it was a bit too slow for how I'd like the song to be, but my god did Brandon put every ounce of soul into the vocals.

Acrobat - better than I'd expected, not a big fan of Glasvegas but they did the song justice; felt they slightly overdid the distortion, but not a terrible thing. You can definitely hear the influence Edge has had on Rab Allan (the guitarist).

LIB - apart from the solo, great effort. Not much else to say lol.
  12. I generally like the album. It's an interesting experience.
Like this umptieth remix of EBTTRT because of its sheer power (and because of the fact that is Bono's vocals...)

after a few hearings you are starting to realise that you are missing something, that something being U2..... It underlines for me that AB can't be improved, the original was (and still is) an epic masterpiece.
