1. Nah, its bad enough they ruined MW
  2. Right, listened to the rest and here's my opinion:

I will be DEFINATELY going back to listen to:

    Love Is Blindness
    Acrobat
    Mysterious Ways
    So Cruel
    The Fly

    I moderately enjoyed:

    Zoo Station
    Even Better
    One

I will probably swerve, unless I'm bored:

    Until The End
    Wild Horses
    TTTYAATW
    Ultra Violet

In all I was impressed that the artists were even willing to have a go at covering such an epic album.

Really dissappointed in the Killlers. The Fray are what I like to call "poppy rock", which I reallly don't like and therefore really don't like what they've done to an old Irish drinking song.

Jack White's take on LIB is astonishingly good. As is Acrobat by Glasvegas.
  3. Depeche Mode's is still my favorite. My second favorite band, covering my favorite song off Achtung Baby Dave Gahan's voice gets better each time i hear it <3

Depeche Mode is also my second favorite band. When yesterday I played the cover (and after that the original), my mother stayed in my room until it finished and even she (63 years old) said it's a beautiful song.
What I found amazing was that she appreciated the electronic arrangement and praised Dave's voice. My mom has completely different music tastes specially due to her age difference. She also loved Patti Smith's cover, but that didn't surprise me because my mom listens more to Patti than me...
  5. I also don't get all the Damien's One bashing. It might not be the best thing since bread slice, but it ain't the worst thing since the Hiroshima bombing either. I like it.
  6. Its terrible :-#. Prefer MJs version above this one. Joe Cocker's attempt is better and in similar style.
  7. This is how I'd rank songs on 'Covered' AB;

    Great:
Garbage - Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
Jack White - Love Is Blindness
Patti Smith - Until The End Of The World
    Gavin Friday - The Fly
The Killers - Ultraviolet (Light My Way)

    Good:
Nine Inch Nails - Zoo Station
The Fray - Trying To Throw Your Arms Around The World

    Bad:
    Damien Rice - One
    Depeche Mode - So Cruel
    Snow Patrol - Mysterious Ways
    Glasvegas - Acrobat

Glasvegas is the worst one. They didn't even try to do a cover, they tried to be U2.
  8. NIN is the only one I'm still not fond of. It'll come I'm sure. I virtually knew nothing about NIN before so I can't compare to their normal style or say if it's bad or good enough for them. I just don't like it yet.
  9. I am still not sure about the You/I changes in "One". Was listening to it today and thought... "OK it's not terrible". And then I heard the "did I disappoint you/bad taste in my mouth" part... it just doesn't really make sense?
  10. on a side note, my actual CD/Magazine hasn't arrived I'm getting frustrated u2.com/livenation!

  11. Take it easy man. Kieran sent it to me from the UK last week and hasn't arrived yet - and do you see me nervous or frustrated?

PS. What the hell has to do LiveNation with the Q magazine?
