  1. If I was to go for a new MP3/video player this weekend, what would you go for best balance between battery life and quality? So far I found the following:

    * Microsoft Zune
    * Apple iPod
    * Creative Zen

    What others are worth considering and not overly expensive or shitty - and might last a few years?
  2. Actually any MP3 player lasts for a few years. I'd say a few months. Anyway, if you have enough money, pick up a good iPod and forget about the others.
  3. iPod. And if you are completely against that, a sansa would be reliable.

    Here in Spain those are very (VERY) popular, almost every one has had / will have a Creative Zen. I've been told to buy one, but I don't like them very much. Anyway, I've heard they're reliable and they don't crash very often. So, if you're looking for a confident, reliable and hard tool (an iPod is NOT any of this 3 things), get a Creative Zen

    I am among the people who are still going to buy the first real MP3 Player. So I have the same doubts as Drew, of course. The matter about technology is the future, if you ask me: so who will be the real leader in technology, if Microsoft or Apple is not a secondary question, most of all because nowadays you could have every single technologic tool linked with each other, which makes preferable having everything of the same brand.
    If I had to buy an MP3 Player today, I'd choose an iPod, most of all because of the many and awesome accessories Apple offers you. But what about PCs? Isn't Microsoft still the leader in theme of softwares? Moreover I saw some stuff by Microsoft which is very near to Apple's iPhone, so my doubts are growing up...

    In the wait that something new clears my mind, I'm still using my "EVERYTHING" Nokia N70.

  10. Hey Drew. Despite me wanting to rip my new ipod classic apart when I first got it I must now admit that with 2 firmware upgrades and a little messing wit the settings it is now brilliant. Sound quality is now (just) above acceptable. The video quality is sensational and you can't go wrong with 80GB. I could recommend it easily
