1. For me, Fix You is THE closer. Teardrop should close their main set a la Streets, not the whole show. Its energy shouldn't be wasted at the end of the concert! As a last alternative, I would accept Teardrop as their second-to-last song, before Fix You (instead of the other way round).
  2. my ideal MX tour setlist:

    1. MX/Hurts Like Heaven
    2. Yellow
    3. In My Place
    4. Lost! (rotate with Shiver)
    5. Major Minus
    6. Don't Panic (rotate with 42)
    7. Paradise
    8. Violet Hill
    9. Green Eyes (rotate with A Message)
    10. Charlie Brown
    11. The Scientist
    12. The Hardest Part (rotate with Glass of Water)
    13. Us Against The World (rotate with Up In Flames and Sparks)
    14. Talk
    15. Trouble
    16. Warning Sign
    17. Yes
    18. What If
    19. Clocks
    20. Speed of Sound (rotate with Lovers in Japan)
    21. Viva La Vida
    22. Don't Let It Break Your Heart (rotate with Life In Technicolor II and Everything's Not Lost)

    23. Politik
    24. Fix You
    25. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
  3. I miss Shiver in your setlist, Dan, but I pretty much like the rest. I would make Everything's Not Lost a staple and rotate Don't Let IBYH and Life In Technicolor instead. I would also make another encore break, between What If and Clocks
  4. I feel like they nailed the entire setlist with the VLV tour. The idea of opening and closing with the same sound just brings the concert to a truly perfect close for me. As if the Life in Tech ii was the coda on an otherwise perfect show, the outtro music played live by the band as opposed to over the PA. I agree with you Sergio, that Fix You is the perfect show closer...but when you open a show with such a distinct happy, appealing opening as LiT, and then you finish it so dramatic, sad, powerful, and emotional- it sort of made perfect sense to close it off how it all began.

I hear LiTii as the band waving goodbye at the end of a huge ride- you're able to look back on the show throughout the whole song and remember what you just experienced!
  5. Let's all agree on one thing though- we need Warning Sign to come back.

My new favorite Coldplay song at the moment.
  6. Right, Coldplay are officially sell-outs. As much as I like them, they just are. Reason why:

They have accepted to play on The X Factor... it can't get any worse.
  7. You know what I love maybe most about Coldplay shows other than the music? Chris is COMPLETELY and totally respectful to the crowd, and doesn't take them for granted AT ALL. No boring drab speeches about his other efforts, no pretentiousness...he appreciates every single person being there. In every show I've ever listened to, there's always: "I hope the people in the back are having a good time too- we haven't forgotten about you. We love you just as much as the people here in the front. So this next song is for you, we want to hear you singing"

Also, things like "We're going to try our hardest to make this the best night of your life", "You all really are in top form tonight, we love you", etc....Things that other artists might say, but they lack some of the sincerity Chris says them with.
  8. A friend of mine, who works at an online radio, told me there will be two gigs in France for the stadium tour.
    - Nice : May, 22nd
    - Paris : September, 2nd.

So we can hope for a few dates before the already announced UK leg. I don't know how this European leg will be planned though, it's kind of weird. Between May, 22nd and September 2nd there is a huge gap.

100% in agreement with you on this! No other concert I've been to has been quite like it.. Just made the crowd feel special and not like it was just another standard and routine show. When I saw Kings of Leon a while back there was little if any interaction with the crowd and it was very routine and seemed like they just didn't want to be there..

  11. God Put a Smile Upon Your Face has really, really grown on me in the last week or so. Don't care for it in any of the live incarnations past the Rush of Blood tour (documented on their Live 2003 release), but the studio cut is racking up the play counts over here.

And when you work it out, I'm worse than you..

    I'm addicted to that line.
