1. how likely is the chance of U2 going on the road within a year from today? very very very very very small.... you got to remember U2 normally takes 3-4 years to make a new record, then about half a year or so before the tour eventually starts.

so 50 bucks for a double CD + some "exclusive" access to videos. duh.... how easily fooled can people get over 22 tracks???

CashMcGuinness must be rolling over in delight...... lmao

i still have that bittersweet taste in my mouth for buying the Super Deluxe version of AB

how many of those remixes and videoes didn't we already have in countless formats?? a shame and a waste, thinking of what i could have been for the real fans. too much known material and way too expensive.

CashMcGuinness jokes are getting really, really old.

Also, I think the plan was to reward people who already had paid subscriptions. If they've already paid their annual $50, then they got to pick the songs on that CD and will be getting it for free. I get the feeling that the people who think the fan CDs are a cash ploy are simply those too cheap to shell out the $50 for an annual subscription.

So yeah, I'm going to stop considering it as $50 for a CD because that's not what it is. It's $50 to subscribe to U2.com and you get the CD free.

Oh and if I didn't mention this before, CashMcGuinness jokes are as dead as PopMart.

Paying $50 for U2.com alone makes it even less worthwhile
I'd rather pay $50 for U2start (don't wanna give the crew some ideas )
  4. Legendary, Glenn

What I really hope is that U22 doesn't peak too high on eBay next year
  5. If you continue paying do you get better access to VIP tickets? Like this time I was in the Boots group which could buy tickets a day later than the other ones.
  6. I have been a member of U2s fan club for a very long time.Even back in the day when, it was called Propaganda. Its a solid fanclub.I have no complaints. The cds (Slane,Sydney, etc) are alone, worth the membership fee. They are not available outside the fanclub, and go for more than $50 on ebay.Slane and Sydney are collectors items.Dont forget,U2 have never released live cd's.So anything, released live on cd, is a treat to this longtime fan.

The main reason, most of us are in U2s fanclub,is for the opportunity to buy tickets, before the general public. The last few tours, I have scored great seats, via the fanclubs presale. My seniority within the fanclub helps Im sure.I have never, not even once, have I had a problem, getting tickets via the fanclub.Yes,U2 use Ticketmaster, but it works well, and I have no problem with U2 using TM.

This past week,Pearl Jams fanclub,10 Club, had yet ANOTHER disastrous problem, attempting to sell presale tickets to their fanclub members.Once again,I was unable to buy tickets.I got lucky, and I was able to buy tickets from Ticketmaster/Live Nation, for my 2 European gigs next summer. That was during the general public sale. So,I could have easily been shut out.Its not even worth being in that fanclub.Your seniority means nothing in 10C.This is the 3rd tour, since 2010,where I was totally shut out buying tickets, via PJs 10Club.

Being in U2's fanclub,IMO is well worth it.If you feel it isnt, then simply cancel.I have debated dropping my subscription at times in the past. But Im glad I didnt cancel my membership. Its true,U2 dont exactly tour every year. But when they do,Im pleased Im in the first group,to purchase tickets, during the fanclub's presale.

Yes,after time, you build up more and more seniority.Im always able to buy tickets in the first group.
  8. There's no indication that voting for the tracks on U22 will get you special privileges later on, is there? In other words, will it be detrimental for me to register once I know the tracklisting?
  9. Any word of the current rankings????

I'm hoping I get the Fan Club thing for Christmas, I already know I got the Super Deluxe of Achtung Baby
  10. No word yet.. But they should reveal the trachlisting very soon. And it's highly doubtful anyone will receive it before Christmas..
  11. I doubt anyone will receive it before Easter

Like I said, it's up to every individual to see if it's worth the money or it isn't
If you think it is, ok, good for you (I'm not being sarcastic here), I just think it isn't
