1. One thing I noticed looking back over the list and checking u2gigs is there are quite a few snippets in these performances. It wouldn't surprise me if what I just posted turned out to be just where the got the slips from, not the actual tracks. For instance, Bad is from Rome, which has a fairly long All I Want Is You snippet. With AIWIY making the list, would they put it in again. I certainly wouldn't be opposed, because I think it's a great performance, but just something to think about. There were also some snippets of songs from other artists as well. I hope they don't do some editing, but that could be a possibility.
  2. i was going to just crack the joke about like, "when are we going to get to vote for the top 22 snippets?"
  3. buy a subscription, get a Greatest Hits CD.....good form...i love U2 and always will, but thank god for bands like Pearl Jam, who appreciate their fans enough to make their shows available for purchase and download...
  4. As a PJ fan, damn (no, "dang" ) you for putting this perspective on this!

    I hate reality checks.

A new release (as in a new album) is pretty much left for another discussion, but I'm going to answer your question anyway. Yeah, they should have had another album out since 2010, but remember, Bono's back put everything back, then subsequently delayed the tour, which only finished 6 months ago. U2 are a band that feel if they release an album, they have to tour. If we expect an album late this year, early next year; we'll expect an arena tour pretty much soon after. They will want that album to be perfect, like they always have done before. We can't compare back to the 80's because there was tremendous pressure from record companies to get albums out. Now that U2 are (one of) the biggest band(s) in the world, they can do whatever they want. No one will force them to release an album, they'll do it when they want. Remember, they have families and everything too. They are also getting old - a 2 year tour is bound to exhaust you. They didn't fuck up NLOTH at all. Did you only listen to it once and then throw it in drawer ready for it to be covered in dust sometime later? It grew on everybody, it just didn't have that hit single: that was probably the issue with NLOTH. It should have done better in charts, but it was a good album. In my opinion, it's better than HTDAAB and ATYCLB - therefore making it the best U2 album of the noughties.

To be honest, it sounds entirely like you are bashing your apparent favourite band in quite a cruel way. It sounds like you've just came onto this forum as some hardcore indie fan who hates proper rock music, then said that U2 are failing. Just enjoy what we have already for christ sake. Most bands don't even make it past 35 years, nevermind 20.

    x1000. Well said buddy

  6. Hate to be picky (well, I don't really) but this should read:

"Most bands don't even make it past 20 years, nevermind 35."

Well said though, pretty much the truth (arena tour can get scrapped however, stadiums all day long).

Nothing wrong with a little "tough love" from time to time.

well, for me, DUALS is a shit. If you like it, no problem
But u2 could have done a better live album than U22. We are subscribers, and we want listen other things. If you want always listen the same songs...BE HAPPY!

What the hell were you expecting? A live album full of rehearsal songs that didn't make the cut? Or perhaps a bootleg of the top 22 songs from the opening acts?
