1. I will get the Nikon P500 on Monday. Not red, sadly, but black is a beast anyway. Anxious to get it.
  2. I wanted my F80EXR in red, but I'm glad I got it in black instead. Can't wait to see some shots from it I was going to suggest getting a Raynox DCR-250 macro converter if you're into that area of photography, but I can't tell if the barrell of the P500 will accept it or not.

I went out in the garden yesterday after it had rained and thought I'd photograph my favourite plant, which has already delivered a U2start favourite (;)) and here's what I got:

  3. Pics in the aftermath of a good rain are magic And that one is simply perfect, whether angle you look it at. Just perfect.

    Regarding the camera...

    vs

I like it better in red, but both are super gorgeous and I'll be extremely happy with it in my hands anyway.
  4. I'd choose the black one, but it's an awesome camera anyway
  5. Forgot to say: what a great picture (once again) Tim! Love those drops and the red colors
  6. Thanks Sergio & Aidan. It's such a great plant to photograph. The leaves are a strange texture, similar to a hosta. So the water just forms perfect droplets whilst the rest of the leaf stays dry. Love it.

That wasn't the red I was expecting Sergio, a lot darker than I imagined. I do believe they're different models though, but still, very nice cameras. I assume yours is the one on the right, 36x zoom and all.
  7. They're the same model, just different colours. Red has to be brought from Japan, thouhg, it's 40-50 bucks more expensive. I wouldn't mind if it was new, but I have found a super offer for a black used one and I'm getting it on Monday. CAN'T WAIT
  8. The one on the left is a completely different build though Even has 21x zoom printed on the barrel? Just look at the mode dial on the camera on the right...
  9. Hmm...that is a sweet colour. I'd be gutted if it got scratched though I wonder why the black one has a matt finish as opposed to the metallic red? I like them both, but can understand your desire for the red one.
  10. Yep, taking care of that gorgeous and delicate finish would be a pain I couldn't be arsed to spend 50 additional bucks so I'm getting the blackie, but I definitely would prefer the reddish one. It's so sexy! And I don't know what's up with the matte/metallic finish either

On a different matter - a question between this and the technology thread. Do you guys know how important is the SD-card class? I mean, everyone raves about their class 6 or class 10 cards, but I've never worried about it and I've been fine for years. Does it matter that much? I will ask it in the tech topic too.
  11. - Class 2 for SD video recording
    - Class 4 and 6 for HD ~ Full HD video recording,
    - Class 10 for Full HD video recording and HD still consecutive recording
    - UHS Speed Class 1 for real-time broadcasts and large-size HD videos

    Minimum write speed:
    Class 2 - 2 MB/sec
    Class 4 - 4 MB/sec
    Class 6 - 6 MB/sec
    Class 10 - 10 MB/sec
