1. Yes, that waiting in silence is really awkward, looks like he's forgotten the lyrics or something. But he's solved it in the last concert, now it looks like a nicely done bridge with the first presentation. I like it.

thats the only reason I dislike the song. I realize its the whole modern age thing again, but still. You're throwing new age technology into a song that sounds like an 80s rock bands balad. It doesn't sit well with me.

this is one of the strange things about the Killers, the new and the old mentality in one. It doesn't bother me per se, but it does sound a bit lame (along with A LOT of Brandon's other lyrics not just no BB but on previous albums). In my opinion Brandon's lyrics need some more finetuning in general. But other than that I really like Battle Born! I've been listening to the CD for a day now and on my iPod, it's got some weak songs imo, but it should be a good album to tour with can't wait to see them! THEY NEED TO ANNOUNCE 2013 DATES ALREADY
  4. The Killers get ready for Battle

The Killers have returned after a four-year hiatus with a new album, Battle Born, and a reinvigorated frontman. “But I still get butterflies,” Brandon Flowers tells the BBC.

Just over three weeks ago, Brandon Flowers’ eldest son started pre-school.
As the pupils got to know their new playmates, they were invited to stand in front of the class and talk about what they had done over the summer.
Taking his turn, Ammon Flowers gave a short speech and showed a few photos. Then his teacher asked: “What does your dad do?”
Quick as a flash, the five-year-old replied: “Oh, he’s a rock star”.
    His father was mortified.
“We don’t ever… We would never use that phrase to him,” says Brandon Flowers. “It’s not even part of my vocabulary. It’s just amazing what they pick up on.”
Modesty aside, Brandon Flowers is a rock star, and a pretty successful one at that.

    (...)

He recalls The Killers’ first gig following their two-year break. After their pre-show ritual (“we get together and we touch feet”), Flowers turned to his bandmates and pronounced: “We still got it”.
Later, he reflects on having turned 30 in the gap between Killers albums.
“I’m looking forward to getting older,” he says.
“I look at people like Peter Gabriel and Sting and even Tom Petty, Don Henley. People that didn’t lose it. I’m hopefully going to join that club.”

  5. Yesterday I fell in love with 'Be Still'. I was driving home around midnight, highway was completely empty and rain was brutally pouring. Then 'Be Still' came and...I just can't describe how that felt, amazing song, amazing.

It has some of the atmosphere of 'Goodnight, Travel Well'.

I have to agree with you. I had ignored it during the first couple of listens, but one night it came on and stood out like it hadn't before. I love it.
  7. The full show is available, at last:

  8. Fantastic Fucking Here With Me sounds great live.
  9. They better start playing The Way it Was.
  10. THEYRE PLAYING IT IN THE BACKSTAGE!!! COME ON.
  11. I don't know if I've said this before lately, but Brandon is in GREAT shape vocally. I think he's been taking singing classes or something. He's perfectly in tune even in places where he used to go slightly (or notably) off-tune like the final Smile Like You Mean It chorus, the "I've got soul but I'm not a soldier" part, Spaceman's bridge (he did it perfect in Madrid, although he goes slightly off tune in the AmEx concert again) or the whole of Shadowplay!
  12. I love Uncle Sam the Eagle lol
