1. As I said earlier, let's try to find an audio download of this thing...

...same goes for that Hyde Park show from this past summer - although there might be a few legal issues surrounding that one.

feel very sorry for you Matt

Thanks, Ron, but don;t feel too sorry for me. I really should have gone to see them on July 2, 2011 (no REAL excuse for not going). I'm trying to reflect back on my mindset then...I was already planning to see U2 the following week (July 11) and had tickets for PJ (Sept 11) so I must have thought that was enough time and money away from my family.

For whatever reason, I wouldn't be thinking that nowadays.

I sincerely feel bad for the "true" (long-time) fans/attendees. They deserve to see this show (even more so than me). I hope SG learns from this experience - even makes it up to these individuals ((including me) somehow if/when they perform at a larger venue.

  3. I've never even tried to find an AIC bootleg before. This is pretty solid for a first try.

I suppose they do have that official release, however. I don't have it (yet). Is it any good?
  4. Matt, dont want to say I told you so,but.....being that the locations that they are playing are so small,it was impossible to get tickets..you have to "know someone" ,as I do....the same thing happened in 2000,when U2 played a few small venues (Irving Plaza) to promote ATYCLB,that was madness.

My son had surgery yesterday on his feet (he's fine),so I knew I couldnt hit the small gig in NYC,plus with Sandy slamming NYC,Im just not in the mood.Wait for the arena tour,as Iam.
  5. do you mean this one?

it's quite a good one covering them live from 1990 to 1996 (with songs from last perfomances by Layne). it has a big lack for me .. Down in a Hole .. i love a lot Queen of the Rodeo though, never released as studio version.
it's a very good document of what they were live
  6. I noticed that "Down in a Hole" wasn't on the bootleg I donwloaded last night. A pity as it's such a great song - one of the best on Dirt. Shockingly, it was also omitted from the Essentials compilation that was released a few years ago.

Are there any good places to get a live version of that song?

Unfortunately, I "know" nobody. To be honest, it's getting frustrating seeing all these shows while sitting in probably the worst seats in the house.

    At least I'm there....right?

...aside from MTV Unplugged, that is.

Too bad they didn't play "Don't Follow" at that show.
  9. don't know much about unofficial releases of Alice; sometimes they neglected what is probably my fav song by them.
at least they put it on Music Bank boxset (and its summary too).
  10. I made my own AIC "Essentials" mix a few years ago. It contains, obviously, all of Dirt, most of Jar of Flies, the hits from the other two studio releases, and a bunch of non-album songs.

I love their two songs from the Last Action Hero soundtrack.

What's your take on Facelift? I was never a huge fan of it although it had some soild tracks.
  11. Do we need an AIC topic?
  12. we don't have a Nirvana topic and we should open an Alice one?hehehe
Facelift is surely lower than Dirt in the whole but, like you said, it has some true classics .. Man in the Box, Love Hate Love above all .. and also We Die Young, Sea of Sorrow .. i love Bleed the Freak
not their top but a solid enough debut for me
