1. Nice review, Ed. Admittedly, I was surprised that you gave it such a high rating as you didn't seem too impressed with some of the choices in the second half of the main set.
  2. Here's a question: Have any of you ever attended a (substantial) concert by yourself?
  3. uh i haven't understood the question ..

it seems i missed quite a lot in these days..

(incidentally i'm with Tim after i saw beyonce and those chicks of destiny named here .. before keane in Soundgarden thread then this .. )
    hehehe
  4. Have you ever gone to a concert alone? I used the term "substantial" in my post to rule out going to a local bar to see a band play. I was focusing more on stadium and arena shows.

I ask this because if I do in fact attempt to attend the London, Ontario concert this summer I am quite certain that I won't be able to find anyone come with me. So...do I buy one ticket or the usual two tickets?
  5. yes it happened various times .. a couple last year for example .. Soundgarden ( girlfriend had to decline cause of a broken foot and preferred to preserve forces for Bruce days later hehe) and The Gaslight Anthem .. but that was at a club.
both were quite close to my home though but happened to travel alone too
  6. I always go with someone else
  7. Matt,I was upgraded to GA at the DMB concert in Dec,at the Barclays Center in Bklyn.I was given a singled GA ticket,by some guy,as I was online in the local Starbucks. My friends had seats in Sec.13.I went in alone, moved up to just about the 3rd row,and wound up talking to a lot of cool people over the course of the evening.I had a great time, and met up with friends after.I would have gone alone to the show,if I had originally scored that single GA days before....

Try to score a GA ticket....you can move around, and pick out some cool people to hang with.I would deff go alone.....I get along great with myself....LOL.
  8. So do I....my wife will think I've gone off the deep end, however. I wish the tix didn't go on sale so soon!!!!
  9. Tell your wife your meeting people from the 10 Club.

As far as the Detroit gig,it isn't easy for me to even rate shows past 2000,for the simple reason that the gigs are deluted with sub par tunes, from weak releases like Riot Act,PJ and Backspacer.

So when I find a show like Grand Rapids or Auburn Hills,I give it a very high ratting. The performance by the band, at both shows mentioned, was amazing.Yes,9 songs off PJ is too much in 1 show, but the great tunes like Long Road,Jeremy ,Animal,Corduroy etc in the main set, made me overlook some of the weaker tunes played, like Marker,Army or Insignificant.

And Comatose had no business being played during that encore....early in the main set,fine..but c'mon...during encore 2 ??
  10. I made a nice mix called 2 Nights in Michigan,'06....I will list the tunes later...
  11. maybe she will escort you to see who are those 10 hehe
