I was at a party few weeks ago and we were listening to all kinds of music. Friend of mine that HATES U2 says to me later in the night: 'Go on, let me hear that new U2 song one more time, it's REALLY good.' I was like WHAT?!
YES ! Same over here. Ordinary Love is ok for me, not super, and I'm still not a fan of Invisible.
But in my environment it's like in yours : my friends and family are kinda anti-U2 but love Ordinary Love.
Most radiostations totally bashed U2 for years, but Ordinary Love is still in the top 10 on the 5 biggest stations (even Nr.2 at the "Cool/Rebel/Youth" station, StuBru) which really is extraordinary. And many stations are sharing the downloadlink for Invisible as well.
