  4. Sorry to be a buzzkill - but have been a U2 fan since 1993 and for the first time have a feeling this new album is going to be a dud.

    I just don't think the product will live up to the years of delay and extremely public identity crisis...I think we are in for a mediocre, over-produced, "safe" album.

    Very curious if I'm the only one with very low expectations at this point.

    That thread, every time I updated it I was thinking 'really?' As for this album - I'm worried it's going to suck. Hopefully they can come through with at least half a good album - though, after all the producers, the time and the seemingly never-ending updates and sessions, they'd better come out with more than five good songs.

    I guess it can go two directions here. Either it takes too long and we all have too high expectations, or it will just take like forever resulting in the fact that we don't expect anything anymore. I tend more to be in the same group as you, having very low expectations. I'm not expecting another classic.

  11. If anyone was predicting U2 to headline iTunes Festival then that's not happening. Last slot – or the final day of the festival – filled by opera singer, Domingo, whoever that is.
