Maybe you can contact me shortly before the shows or during the Amsterdam week for a meetup

Terror's 1080 updated on the opening post as well. You both are doing GA all 4 nights?
  2. Poor night 3 It will be a bummer when it has the best setlist and performance and nobody films it, haha. If someone gets me a ticket and hires me as a taper I can provide an audio recording and complete HD footage (serious offer)
  3. Only 10 days until U2 hits Amsterdam (I will open the thread soon)... Anyone else wants to contribute to any of the nights by filming or recording anything?
  4. This could be interesting for someone that wants to participate in this but doesn't have a suitable camera. The Sony HX20V is widely regarded as the best (or among the best) compact cameras for filming concert video. You can get it on the cheap here: http://www.ebay.es/itm/371421348538 It's used and well used, but it still can do the trick and work better than 90% other cameras out there
  5. Another bump of hope for more people who want to contribute.
  6. Yeah, I'm bumping every few days to see if someone can contribute. I'm sure lots of incredible videos will be uploaded to YT in no time, we'll just need to contact the uploaders and see if we can have the originals.
  7. This time in the right topic:
I will be filming with my sony dsc rx100

  8. Expect something like this (Chicago IV, 2015), or this (Tampa, 2009), or this (Anaheim I, 2005) in terms of audio quality as I'm going to use those same mics. My main mics are currently out of order and a fellow taper has lent me his AT-831 / SP-CMC-2 which sound pretty good, as you can tell from these recordings. Let's hope the Ziggo and myself live up to the task and produce a decent recording
  9. A friend decided to not use his Sony HX20V but instead the RX100 when he recorded some songs at the Springsteen Padova 2013 show. Bad decision.
The Sony RX100 is a great camera but you need to know what you're doing. Regarding the zoom: What's the point anyway to use this camera at a big arena gig?
  10. A 3'6x optical zoom is more than enough if you're not so far away. More zoom means more shakiness and less aperture which means less light and details. I think the RX100 is a very good camera for this.
  11. yes, the RX100 is a good cam if you know how to handle it ;-)
given the stage setup and the fact that there is a lot of movement in the whole arena makes a zoom lense a must if you intend to film the whole show and not want to be screwed when Bono moves away from you...
one person being VERY close to the stage or "b-stage" with a good prime or a good camera like the LX100 could do a good coverage from that spot though for all the action there...
