1. Hey Timi! Nice description of what U2 has been doing. Actually, although they have returned to their roots, I sometimes feel that they are considering the commercial success more than doing something new...well, there isn't anything wrong with it, but if they consider it too much then we'll never such songs like Acrobat, So Cruel, The Wanderer or Mofo...I hope they do something cool on the new album tho!
Oh, and BTW...*looks around, sees no crew members*...what was it? Ah yes! Would you introduce yourself in the Welcome To U2Start y'all forum so that we can all get to know you? (Oh, and nice avatar!)
  2. I just downloaded the Santiago show and heard it for the first time. I absolutely love the Mission Impossible theme at the beginning. Fits in strangely with Pop Muzik, but it just sounds so awesome.

After watching a few clips from the Santiago show...I must say I really miss it now, beats Vertigo tour everyday
  4. It doesn't beat Vertigo but I wish I could travel back in time and see Sarajevo concert...
  5. I don't miss Popmart...It has had it's moments, but I just don't like. I listen to many bootlegs and DVD's from each tour, but I only listen to Sarajevo and Mexico from Popmart.

umm...I've fallen in deep love with the Santiago video
But hey...you glorify the past when the future dries up! And as the future hasn't dried up yet, then there is no need to glorify the past!

Do you study philosophy? But speaking about Santiago...that's a great one too...you're right. Reminds me to Mothers of the Disappeared
  8. *sigh*
Those were the days. The last great tour they did...
  9. I think U2 isn't the U2 anymore which brings us spectacular shows like Zoo TV and Popmart. Elevation was great, I think, but wasn't a show. Vertigo too. The focus was more based on the songs and political chatter during Elevation and Vertigo, not entertainment and show.

    How old are you?

  11. I don't miss it at all. It was great at the time, for a period, until the joke and irony became wafer-thin.
I agree the spectacle was immense but it was from a tour showcasing some weak material from a brave but ultimately flawed album. Lets face it, U2 SHOULD be about the music.
The ZooTV tour was amazing for the quality of music AND over-the-top stage gimmicks whereas the Joshua Tree tour was powerful because it ONLY mattered about the strength of the tracks.
If you take away all the tinsel and baubles from PopMart, your left with a tree, and not a real one, one of those cheap plastic ones that smell a bit like eggs.
