    All My Life subliminally confirmed.

  3. I'm dismayed that ATYCLB has been talked about these past few days but I haven't been able to engage in any of it because I've been busy with transitioning between jobs.

As one of the biggest fans of ATYCLB on this site, I think the band trying to model SOE after ATYCLB from a conceptual standpoint is very interesting, but I actually don't think it's their best approach. ATYCLB was successful in large part because Pop was considered to be a failure at the time. I'm sure that'll trigger a lot of people on the site, but the truth hurts and I'm not sorry about it. After two albums of the band speaking from behind costumes and masks of some sort, ATYCLB felt like a breathe of fresh air. I don't know how they can emulate that sort of sensation following SOI, an album and tour that was incredibly successful by any metric. Perhaps Tedder is using the analogy to describe the stark change in direction ATYCLB represents rather than the actual sound itself and I'm pretty sure many people are hoping this is the case.
  4. I'm surprised at some of the criticism towards ATYCLB. I think it's strength was more to do with the quality of the songs rather than the disillusionment from Pop, which I also consider a great album. Kite, walk on,stuck in a moment are some of there best songs they've done imo. I also love New York thought it was a massive standout live. I could go on about the rest of the album, although not the biggest fan of elevation even though it worked perfectly live as an opener. If u2 do an album of that quality again I'll be more than happy. Having said that zooropa or achtung baby sound would be even better. Maybe a mixture of them all would be perfect.
  5. I think I'm gonna rename this thread into Songs Of Leave Behind.
  6. Maybe the album will come out during the apple event in September 2016
