1. I think this SHOULD be the case.
If they want relevance with a new generation, this could be the way. I really think/hope that there'll be a regular/rock version of this one on the album and they'll let the remix find its way to the airwaves as a single+album bonus track
  2. idk it makes me happy to see these people jump and already sing along to a song they've never heard before (and probably didn't know it was u2 either)
  3. Well, he introduced it as a song that he worked with U2 on.

Mixed reaction from the crowd when he announced it...

  4. This is the kind of thinking that keeps artists, especially ones at U2's age from trying to evolve and subvert expectations.

"You're a rock band, play rock music."

Good thing they didn't take that to heart in the 90s, eh?
  5. The beach clip is different, I can hear Larry's drums. Maybe that is the actual album version and this Kygo remix will be on the deluxe disc.

    Nailed it.
  8. I don't think this Kygo song is the promo version, just a remix version for the clubs.

  10. In my view, the U2 remixes in the 90's were a lot better, than this Kygo remix. You can hardly hear any band member, other than Bono in this Kygo remix. I hope that You're The Best Thing About Me will sound better in full band version. it's a little disappointing for me so far.

I quess DJ's just want people to move, i expect that full band version is much different on SOE.
  12. Quite a few of the 90s remixes have got little to no semblance of the original song in them, and were pretty much purely dance tracks.

It's quite clear that the version of The Best Thing from Eze is different to what Kygo played; there's more distinguishable bass and drums and a bit more variety in the guitar (before the chorus there's a lower, sweepier EBW sort of sound), but it's still a strongly-dance influenced track.

I think U2 are working in the right direction for 2016-17 and they know EXACTLY what they're doing with this 'leak.'
