1. Whats this here, a match of bashing U2?

Song sounds ok to me, but like many songs you have to listen several times and together with the other songs of SOE.

The song isn't shit but I'm just disappointed with all the hype leading up to this album, that's what they brought out for us first as a single. I'm a big U2 Fan just like the rest of us, but lately I'm liking what Coldplay's putting out a hell of a lot more and that's a lot me to say considering that U2 are better. The single choices and confidence of late has not been great. They keep second guessing themselves with everything and I think it's showing in the new songs except for The Little Things. The blackout I am liking more and more but U2 are a lot better when they don't give a s*** about anyone's opinion, take a risk like the 90's, the best records have taken risk, U2 know how to do this. But even Invisible was better than this song. They should have learnt their lesson from Nat release that relevance is not what they should be doing, stick with what they know your fans and the U2 audience will love you. But yeah disappointed with this song and I don't think that I will be playing it much apon the album release.

Well said mate. Glad to know we share the same opinion, I only dislike Coldplay in general however they seem to have put more creative work into their recent album and tour. Do you think the band is getting a bit lazy, also when it comes down to chasing relevance?
  3. Yeah people always over react here IMO
  4. You're the best thing that ever happened a boy.

I find this line really strange!

I'm not sure on the relevance thing mate, just think U2 shouldn't be worrying about radio hits at this point. I posted a couple of Coldplay songs in the Coldplay thread, check them out to me, that's artistic. The lyrics and the best thing are good I think but the song.. Meh, hoping the album version is different and better
  6. At first I wasn't impressed at all. Now I have been playing the song over and over again for about an hour with a guitar in my hands and I love it!
  7. Who listens to radio anyway?? Definitely not the young people
  8. Mhmh,i thought the same thing but just brushed it off like some of The Blackout's lyrics
  9. You're the best thing that ever happened a to Boy.

I find this line really strange!

I think he's referring to the album Boy

Moreover, I don't want another Joshua Tree or Achtung Baby even though they were great albums, I do want something different... not u2 doing the same stuff over and over, imo this is the only way to stay around for 40 years together. I guess people complaining about this aren't going to spend a penny for this single or the upcoming album, am I right?

THIS! I think if they went all 'Achtung Baby' again people who still complain. 'They need to act their age, this pathetic.' 'Not as good as the original.'
