    But if it did happen, I'm not sure that feeling cheap or gimmicky is that bad of a thing. Remember the PopMart setup? Edge's karaoke slot? I get that this album and tour are not the ironic embrace of pop culture that the band was taking to the extreme in the 90s, but still...U2 can still have some fun, right?
    Sorry, I didn't mean the idea is cheap. I meant the physical wheel is cheap, having avant garde technology for that.
  2. I quite liked the techno feel of Beautiful Day with the head visuals on the JTT30 tour , but the whole happy meal section needs a major overhaul

    As long as we get Acrobat's live debut (and please just one Pop song?), I'll consider this tour a success regardless of any other rarities.

There’s no right or wrong when it comes to someone’s views on music, it’s about being open minded enough to accept someone else’s view though.     Why am I getting scolded when I simply made a point? I ageed that sales and awards aren't the only way to judge quality but you have to admit it counts to something. The problem is, music is so subjective and it is really hard to really judge quality based on that.

    For example, I HATE Taylor Swift...honestly think she is the worst, music and human-wise...but I can't deny her sales power. Her music resonates with millions, hence her very good first week numbers that really no one pulls off. Is she the best artist based on this? I'd say no, but some might say yes.

    Bomb obviously resonated with people. Did it help that it came off a very successful time for the band? Most likely. Publicity and exposure helps sales too but to completely disregard it because in your opinion it wasn't a good album is also silly.

    Then it goes back to the subjectivity of music which I think you alluded to which ties into the endless setlist debates that we always have on here. "This song is crap and overplayed" or "I would love to see this song return" and so on.

  8. I could see the wheel of fortune (from the small glimpse we have of it) being used when the band is on the b-stage to choose one song to play off of POP or one rarity. They could have six songs to choose from in the wheel, and play one each night.

    I zoomed in a bit more and 6 songs are to be read on the wheel: Elevation, Pride, Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Year's Day, Beautiful Day and COBL.
    That’s good, hopefully the songs that have been rarities in recent years get played every show and the wheel is used to rotate hits and maybe the odd surprise.
