Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. My take on Acrobat. It's going to sound unrecognizable. It's has never been out there in terms a live version so that jump itself is going to leave many fans saying, 'what?'. The version we know is 27 years old and a studio creation to boot.

It might suffer from being part 'of an era' of songs. I am sure when a band looks back on their music they view some songs into groupings for their similarity. Once they move on this 'era' gets forgotten. Going back would be like wearing old clothes.

It will be interesting to see if they add some 21st Century sauce to this track. Otherwise it might sound dated in the way a early 90s grunge track instantly now sounds 'of it's era'.

I have a hunch that Acrobat will not only be played, it will be a central part of the show. The song's lyrics fit perfectly with the Experience theme of the tour

In a loosey goosey every narrative fits into every other narrative Bono kind of way.
  3. I just hope they give this track ampel practice time so it is given it's due.

I’m using the same comparison again but I think if you look at the way they played ultraviolet on 360 that could be a good example of how they might go about it. It still resembled the album version but edges guitar parts sounded clearer, I don’t know if I’m explaining it right but I can hear it. Anyway in that case I think the album version of ultraviolet is perfect for the album just like the album version of acrobat is perfect for the album but i think the live versions of each track, should we get acrobat live, will be perfect for the live environment.
  5. Maybe it's the version from 1993 with just Bono and Edge
  6. +1, talking as a short bloke, we see way too many phones held up already.
  7. Why isn't anyone speaking of the obvious. God Part 2. Taken off the shelf for some vinyl wax love. Could it be in the show? Hardly any mention of this track which really was a transition track into future sounds.

I guess we have a different idea of "obvious" song choices.
