Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. I'm surprised they come up with Oceans. That's good a real rarity in the show. Never thought of this song. I suggest it will be an intro to another classic. Hopefully Streets or...
  2. I can say from my limited experience with performing the song live - you have just gotta let that groove take control and focus on that part SO hard...always came out on the other side in 4/4, but that was coasting on some hardcore familiarity. I have no idea how hard that must have been to lock in while recording the song, before there was any real familiarity at all...
  3. I bet they'll have it in the set they can play any JT song backwards at this stage Streets and WOWY are a definite shoe in while some fans might not be familiar or enthusiastic about their newer material they will always revert back to the crowd pleasers the final week of rehearsals will be a real telling point as to what will be played in the first few gigs.
  4. There are a decent handful of songs U2 could play with their eyes closed, but they all still make the rehearsals. Show flow, visuals, etc - all matters. Firmly predict no JT, at least for the first half of the tour.

or maybe they just feel these song don't work, which might also be a good reason not do an AB30 tour If they were thinking about playing it this tour, they're not suddenly going to save it for next tour.
  6. They're gonna need an album to postpone if they're gonna do an AB30 tour
  7. No please no AB30 tour, just give me a regular tour
  8. Yeah tbh I can't think of a better way to totally kill Achtung Baby than for the aging guys in U2 to play it in full every single night. It's an album full of youth and mystique and regret, pangs of some of those guys' first real heartbreaks and internal hardships.

Conveying that meaning and emotion on a nightly basis would be virtually impossible, and that's fine. Keep it on the record, play the songs you want to play live. But don't try to create something new out of lightning in a bottle.

Yeah, or maybe the ending of the show with them walking away like they did in the early days. It's clear we have a lot to look forward too!
