Yes very relieved. Bono was in full showman form last night. Vocally he’s was ok But that’s cool, I don’t expect him to be spot on at this point and I’m sure it’ll get better as the tour goes. But I need to see that energy and I sure did.

Haven't read many comments in case there are still some spoilers out there (still hoping Red Flag Day, Showman or Landlady make an appearance... so I want my hopes getting crushed slowly as the tour progresses, not all of a sudden in this thread).

1. Getting rid of Joshua Tree
I applaud it.
It's great they ignored it. Yeah I wouldn't complain if they had played a couple of songs from it like always, but playing none of it was a breath of fresh air to me.
Fuck Streets. Yes I love it, but the shows are totally enslaved to that song, and I'm really happy they finally broke free from it.

2. Innocence
Eh... mixed feelings.
On one hand, I wanted them to play some Songs of Innocence and that they didn't ignore the album. So I loved when they started playing Iris (specially because I was already excited with The Ocean, and the blending of both songs was amazing).
Then Cedarwood... ok, well, I love Cedarwood...
Then Song for Someone... wait a minute... is this gonna be -oh, SBS... yeah, it'll be the sam... Wolves... oh well...
So I like it, but if this was the most exciting part of the i+e tour to me, this time I find it boring.

3. Acrobat
WTF, are you kidding me!?
First of all... wow... they played it! I wanted to go to celebrate to the streets like if it was a soccer championship.
Then... what an amazing song. And they didn't butchered it up, which I was scared they'd do if they'd ever play it. No, they made it sound as one of their best songs ever.
Which then begs the question I was already asking 2 minutes into the song... WTF they didn't played it for this past 25 years?!?! This should've been the heart of every single show since 25 years ago, we should all be sick and tired already of listening Acrobat live by now.
Still, I'm still in shock that they played, I've been watching it on youtube over and over again since last night.

4. Experience
Wow, 8 out of 13... that's really cool
I wasn't expecting All We Have Left (well, this thread spoiled it to me a couple of minutes in advance, but not before that), so it was a surprise.
But then I definitely wasn't expecting 3 experience songs in a row. I have to admit that at that moment I was hoping/wondering how many more in a row they'd go... sadly that was it.
Really happy but not surprised that they included Love is Bigger as the climax of the show.
I'm disappointed they left out Red Flag Day and The Showman.
I wasn't expecting Landlady (or SOL for that matter), but one can dream.
I really thought Little Things would be central in the theme of the show, so I was surprised they didn't went there.
I'm happy with it overall, but I'm still hoping for RFD/TSh to appear eventually.

5. Narrative
Meh...
The part I felt more let down was that I think it lacked a narrative (or if there was, I couldn't tell) which I loved in i+e.
The show works, so I'm not totally complaining, and maybe this means we'll get more varied setlists on this tour (don't know what's happened on rehearsals), but I'm one of the few that prefer a solid narrative than setlist variation, so this doesn't excites me that much.
At least for now.
Hopefully I'll change my mind in a few days.

6. Performance
I think it was great.
In i+e (first show) Bono sounded really insecure, this time he sounded better.
Like some people have said, it sounded way better, more fresh and with more energy than throughout the whole JT30 tour.
Even I Will Follow and Desire sounded fresh.
As they start to feel more comfortable with the songs and the setlist, the snippets will start appearing, which they only do when they feel comfortable enough with the song to start messing with it.

Well, that's my review of it.
Waiting for St Louis.

I really think Setlist wise last night they nailed it, of course there’s bits and pieces they could polish a bit but honestly all I want come when I eventually see them is for them to play the same songs. Maybe 2 or 3 rotationals for night 2 but the song choices themselves really worked.

I want them to rotate the SOI songs. It just feels like a copy/paste on the i+E tour from Iris to UTEOTW. Sadly, that's not going to happen, as all the productions and visuals are already there. But I want to see California rotating with one of those songs. The themes are very different, so it's just a pipe dream.

I’d definitely take California in place of one of them and as someone mentioned last night landlady instead of SFS would be great but I too think that section is pretty fixed for the tour. I just feel that despite things we could change the band played a cracking Setlist. It could always be better to the individual but the show as a whole works great.

Yeah, I agree, it was a great setlist all and all. Sil's screaming like a banshee every time there was a rarity was priceless.

imagina if they ditched all the SOI songs right now on the set because they played before and play just stuff like, California, Volcano, Reach Me Now, Crystal Ballroom...

It did put into sound what we were all feeling when they played acrobat, she definitely likes to get carried away from time to time .

Reach me now would be amazing, I think that’s one we’ll never see live though. I would even take it as a rotational with wild horses for the encore opener where I think it belongs in any set.

If you get a copy/paste from Iris all the way down to UTEOTW, in my opinion, that is is just a shame. I can never call that setlist great. After three years, I would expect something else.
