Lol, that are exact the songs that are listed in the my favourites playlist on my Ipod
UTEOTW is great too... pity they didnt played The Fly @ Slane cause I like it the way it has been played at the Elevation Tour, but I think the song just don't fits in the whole Slane scene (Mysterious Ways didnt fit in too btw)

Agree with you on that one, the show was just perfect, but they should have replaced Mysterious Ways for a ATYCLB song, maybe In A Little While or New York

In A Little While is what I would like there too, or Stay.

Good option too, but U2 doesn't like the song that much (according to U2byU2 Edge says that Gone is at his best when playing acoustic)
  6. I really love the part when Bono forgets the lyrics during Desire, live from Mexico-city (dvd).
It's so stupid, but he makes it very funny by singing La Bamba.

Nice one But I love the whole song from Popmart!
  8. I've got another question...could someone explain me these lines from MacPhisto's speech in sydney? >>

    Frank Sinatra
    I give you MTV demographic
    You're welcome

    Salman Rushdie
    I give you decibels

    Goodbye Squeegie
I hope they give you whales

    Goodbye Micheal

What's "MTV demographic" ? What's it got to do with Sinatra?
What does he mean by giving rushdie "decibels"?
    Who's Squeegie?
    Who's Michael?

Thanks (you know I don't open new topics...this had to do with sentences in a live show!)

EDIT - The only one I could fathom an answer for would be Salman Rushdie - I think he (Bono/MacPhisto) was making a mockery of the fatwa that was placed upon Rushdie's head after he released his book "The Satanic Verses" which offended certain sects of the Muslim faith at the time, and still considered as such (although I've got a copy, and couldn't make much sense of it but there wasn't anything that struck me as being religiously offensive...), and saying that MacPhisto had given him the power to speak his mind (Rushdie appeared onstage alongside Bono during a show earlier in the year at Wembley, and in U2 by U2. Bono mentioned how it offended his own Christian faith that there were people wanting to kill Rushdie for his using the right to free speech). It's all part of MacPhisto's facade in a sense, but it's also the actual Bono inside talking through him, i.e. I gave the world free speech (i.e. decibels) and Rushdie used it, shame on him.

Well, at least that's what I think he's referring to lol...
